RE: Game 10 - Elon
We lost focus in the 2nd half but again, a blocked kick woke everyone up.
Mission accomplished.
Now to Towson.

I guess, but if any voters saw the performance, they would drop us from the top 25. Not the impressive, resume building victory we needed to get the committee to consider us. If we play the same next week, we will lose to Towson. I guess we now are pulling for JMU to beat Richmond.

I no longer care how ugly it is. Let's just keep winning.

RE: Game 10 - Elon
9,500 announced attendance, not bad.
Attendance dropped a ton in the second half, but it got really cold so I don't blame anyone who left. Went from low to mid 70s during tailgating to about 40 by the end. And it's not like it was the most exciting game to watch...

Very good attendance..in fact, to me anyhow, amazing.
We controlled ball 36+ minutes and had over 400 yards offense. Yet we played a lackluster
game. Cluely is a warrior, but, frankly, we all know Mosely would be playing if he hadn't
been injured.

I see Mosley will get a statue next to Ortiz out front of Zable.

It was again, like Delaware, nice to see the opposition bring some fans, cheerleaders, etc. It's one of the reasons I like having Elon on board. This will be a good rivalry going forward.
There were five CAA games this weekend. The largest crowd after ours was Stony Brook with 5,100.
I like this team - but - they just seem to get complacent at times. Just when you could feel that Elon was getting chippy and was driving for their second score, the defense woke up. The speed they showed rushing the passer on the last few plays of that drive showed the talent gap, also that they woke up.

Not to worry, the voters in FCS are clueless. Plus, you assume all the other teams really look that good.

RE: Game 10 - Elon
Cluley has not looked sharp since Villanova. The O line seems better at run than pass blocking, he is getting killed. I like him. Like Rocco's tongue in cheek remark, Mosley has yet to take a live snap, so any presumption that he would have been the starter is off. I got a kick out of seeing Mosley tooling around in the knee scooter, as I did the same last year. A great device indeed.

Game 10 - Elon
I blame the offensive line way more than cluley. He's got no time and we are lucky he hasn't gotten hurt as many times as he's been hit this year. I'm not surprised he puts too much air on most throws given that he has to get rid of the ball quickly to avoid being sacked almost every play.
Agreed on Mosely. Never played a snap, so nothing to discuss there.

The Nova game appears to be the exception this season. In fairness I'm pretty sure he's playing near-death.

He hasn't had a lot of times, but he also misses a lot of open recievers. That deep ball where Tre was ruled out of bounds could've been 6 with a better throw, or at least been a 40+ yard gain with an OK throw. He throws too high often, and missed some recievers on short screen passes.

RE: Game 10 - Elon
Steve missed some receivers because he was getting little protection and just got ride of the ball . A pass to Dedmond in the north end zone he was nailed after he threw the ball. Sure he missed some others but no QB is going to have a 100% completions.
Regardless how was The Tribe shut out in the 2nd half ?

Because they got conservative, predictable and complacent for the entire 3rd quarter.

I realize I'm in a minority; but thank goodness we don't schedule CNU or the Apprentice School, we'd be mincemeat.

RE: Game 10 - Elon
Another great day for number 7, but we will need to open it up for the remaining games. UR is tough, and Towson will play with nothing to lose. We cannot play for FG's (even assuming they don't get blocked) and expect to win. The Wildcat was not effective yesterday, I was thinking perhaps trying to set something up off that formation, but it did not come down. Towson is really off this year, but they have a decent front, so we will need to come in with some options. A road game, with a cold weather forcast.

Only 2 schools scored fewer points on Elon than us.
Cluley needs to work on his timing with routes for McBride. Have they connected through the air for more than 10 yards in the last few weeks?

Mosley is still riding his "one-leged" scooter on the sideline - are we just fooling ourselves to believe that he will ever play for the Green & Gold again? - not to mention regain the skills he displayed as a High Schooler??

RE: Game 10 - Elon
Tribe is:
Worst in the league in sacks (33) given up.
2nd in turnover margin.
2nd in least interceptions thrown (3).
Could be debated that the sacks are a combination of protection and not getting rid of the ball.
Yes, I think everyone would like to see better accuracy and consistency, including Cluley. Possibly the low interceptions are due not only to choices of when to throw, but where it's being thrown...Three interceptions in ten games is pretty strong for essentially a first year QB.

Yesterday
Longest pass 19 yds
McBride 11 yds
When most are screens or short you have a much smaller chance of int.
