If any of you live in Senate District 21, please do not vote for Phil Poole.

A friend of mine sent me a picture of his campaign ad printed in the Crimson White where he lists positive reasons to vote for him as:

"Senator Poole filibustered to assure people that were placed on the Board of Trustees were loyal to the University campus in Tuscaloosa. He secured the addition of Paul Bryant Jr and two others who are loyal to the Tuscaloosa campus to the Board of Trustees. If Phil had not given 3 years of his life to stop the power grab by UAB, the probability is 1/2 of the current students in Tuscaloosa wouldn't be here."

Unfortunately, the ad only appeared in the print copy of the CW and isn't online. Please don't elect this fool.

Sadly, he could say he plans on driving around UAB's campus setting off pipe bombs and this would most likely result in a net gain of votes in any district in this state.

You have a former elected official explicitly saying he did things to make sure the UA Board of Trustees remained pro-Tuscaloosa. A board that is required by law to serve UAB, UAH, and UA(T) equally.

What on earth does it take for someone with real power to take action on this?

I assume senate district 21 must be near Tuscaloosa? It's not up here near Madison County...

I can't believe someone would actually put that in print.

A copy of that political ad should be sent to every major media outlet in America, especially the sports media outlets. It isn't paranoia if they really are out to get you and this is what he is bragging about. The only ones he feels won't like his approach are the ones it is aimed to attack, but the admission that a State Senator backs the crimson hued BOT in being anti UAB & anti UAH may be news outside of this state where football might not be a state religion.

This could become something bigger than just a District 21 State Senate race. Can anyone in T-town get actual copies of the paper for use in mailing to the above media outlets?

Like most politicians he's probably pandering to his district voters which are probably red & white. It is a surprise that a state sen would come out that far into the light w/ those feelings though

Clay Travis would be a good one to send it to........he doesn't like UA, or it's fans very much.

Hold onto that solid copy. I'm not seeing it in the online link. This is good documentary evidence.

I wish I could find an article about his filibuster. The only information I can find from a Google search is this board and his website. Makes it seem like this is just him being desperate for votes.
