Arsenio Favor vs. Cody Clements - experience
If Cody appears in the rest of the games this season, including our possible bowl game, he will have played 12 FBS games at quarterback, the same as Favor.

Favor's career numbers at Southern Miss for all 12 games he played: 38 of 70 for 658 yards, 3 TD and 3 INT. Also 12 rushes for 42 net yards and 0 TD.

Cody so far this year: 116 of 166 for 1540 yards, 10 TD and 6 INT. Also 70 rushes for 167 net yards and 4 TD.

Is Arsenio fighting for 2nd on the depth chart next year?

I believe Favor time may have passed, and he may be playing else where next year

The Chipoletti guy sounds like he'll push Briscoe for the #2 spot next year. You hear more about him than anyone else not in the mix right now.

Chipoletti is ahead of Briscoe right now, he just isn't eligible.......was told he will push Clements.

Can he transfer again? That guy knows an awful lot of fight songs already.

I would imagine that Favor has made his last stop in his collegiate career. If he can't get on the field at UAB, he will probably just get a MA degree and move on with his life.

It was never Clements vs Briscoe, Briscoe's competition this season is Chipoletti and Orth. Thats two RSSops and a RSFr for spring snaps maybe bowl practices too for Clements to heal.

Hate to say, but I'm betting that Briscoe transfers after the year.

Doubt it. He still has baseball and our team can be pretty damn good.

I don't think he's going to play baseball anymore, but after this year, he might change his mind.

#1 - Are the transfer requirements regarding a "sit out year" the same for baseball as for FB & BB? (Didn't Croft wind up playing baseball at AU?)
#2 - How many seasons could Briscoe count on in FB if he did transfer?

Craft went to a juco in Florida after he left uab, then went to auburn.

Those other guys must be pretty great then. 4-star can't get it right in time to start here even after Cody graduates?

+1

He along with Clements and Favor dont fit. Really watching the Dec. recruiting/signees I think we offered a kid high school senior that graduate early. Also some expect to see Taz Wilson, however it works we've gotta fix our QB position....

Willing to bet that if Arsenio is given a fair shake he will battle Cody for the starting job next year.He has a much better arm and he is more physically blessed(if you don't believe go catch practice). We need Cody to become more of a all around passing threat so that we are not so predictable. That has been our problem on offense this year, along with not having a REAL dual threat QB that can run the offense with all of the weapons that we have and take advantage of their individual strengths. We have underachieved this year offensively with all the weapons we have(most of you seem to be happy with where we are and what we've done, because of our past). With as well as the FURIOUS 5(our OL) has played, STUDS like Howard, Vinson,Backman, Everett, Henderson. Nelson, Staples, Hump, Magee, Perdue, Height. We should be a little more explosive on offense, instead we've been rather average against the good teams, because of QB play. My hope is that Cody gets and stays healthy this year and lead us to a 8-4 or 7-5 record that we will need to make a bowl. With our past 6-6 will not cut it for us to get a bowl bid this year(see FAU last year) though it would be an incredible feat and turnaround for the program. Next year we need all of the QB's to come out and push each other so that we have at least 3 guns that we can count on in a crunch unlike this year. That said a healthy Cody should have the inside track in next seasons QB comp, Arsenio will bring a different flavor to the battle and push Cody, Chip does not have the size in my opinion to be the man, but I would not count anyone out. What we need is a QB that is not predictable that can make plays with his arms and legs when the game is tight and close. If the QB's that have played this year possessed those talents we are 7-1 or 6-2 right now. Here's to solid QB play the rest of this year and next year regardless who it is.

We could've put up video game numbers with better QB play. The speed of the starting WRs should have the numbers Williams, Hearn, and Nic had year one under mcgoof
