GaState at App State - Game Week Thread
If any of the Ga State fans are coming up (not likely, FGSU already returned a boat load of tickets) bring a jacket, gloves, Artic suit for some of ya'll yuppies, etc.

Forecast as of now: Sunny with High 42, Low 28 with 14 mph winds.

GaSouth fans already making the rounds on our sites, gotta love that.

I'm hoping for cold conditions, and similar results to the GaSouth game for FGSU. It looks like our rushing attack has found it's groove (441 yards rushing at Troy) and our young team has a bolt of confidence.

RE: GaState (FGSU) at App State - Game Week Thread
GaSt has proven that they can throw the ball against almost anyone and Apps secondary hasn't exactly been a world beater. That said, if Woody plays the tighter, pressing defense than he played against Troy, hopefully App gets similar results. App should be able to run the ball and control the clock but Apps lack of a pass rush, especially if Blair can't play, will give the Panthers some opportunities. Neither team is good enough to overcome multiple turnovers so ball security is a must. There should be a great crowd for this one.

Hats off to the Eagles for their turnout at The Dome. Nothing like a hostile crowd at a home game!

I look forward to watching this game. Should be pretty entertaining.

Appy, you don't want to be the one that gives State their first FBS win do you?

We gave Liberty one, although I am trying to view that as a wake up call more than anything after the pounding we put on Troy a week later.

I know we blew them out and Appy gave us a game but I think the Panthers will be pretty competitive.

I still think app wins by 10+

Cold conditions and some wind? I don't think that bodes well for GSU's passing game personally. They couldn't run block to save their life, so I don't think they scare App that way either...

I think we keep our little urban elite fannies warm enough to keep it close and have a reasonable shot at winning if our D can look decent half the time.

I think Apps Run game will be effective and weather may affect state just enough. Appy wins.

Given the history to how we respond to being blown out. This one will be a close one, but lose by less than a score. I make no predictions until I see the walking wounded list.

RE: GaState (FGSU) at App State - Game Week Thread
Is it bad that from day one of FGSU's announcement to FBS I have wanted this exact game?.....albeit we had a better football team when GaState got the invite, but I think the 2014 version of App State is capable of anything at this point. I think we either blow them out or we give them a Liberty gift and let them break our hearts. Funny things going on up in Boone these days.

I don't like coming out of a bye, but we went in with a bang so we shall see who shows up.

USA lit us up and most on here think Arbuckle is a better QB. So, the App D better be prepared. Regardless this is likely to be a high scoring affair.

Holding my nose while typing, but I will be rooting for App. But if Ga St gets their first fbs win against long time rival App, that will be pretty darn funny. Therefore, I can't lose in this game. 02-13-banana

Arbuckle is a good qb and #9 receiver from Ga. State had a field day against us--- of course I would not say we are great at pass coverage.

But #9 is a very quick receiver. It is important for App. to make sure they know where he is on every play.

If we play the same defensive scheme I agree it will be the team that has the ball last wins. They will be able to pass all day on us and we should be able to run all day on them.

I think we play a little more aggressive on defense this game though. We must hold onto the ball, we win the TO battle we win.
