Started with 2 chairbacks on the westside in 1998. Now have 12 tickets total along with 2 tailgate spots on the westside.

Not hearing much from those that dont ahve season tickets..I know many live out of state, but I am curious as to other reasons why some do not purchase season tickets.

I have been to most home games since 2008, but have not yet bought season tickets. I was a student until 2011, so obviously I didn't need to buy tickets. Every year since then I tell myself that I'm going to buy season tickets, but put it off. If I was able to buy east side season tickets online, I have no doubt I would have. NIU doesn't make buying season tickets as easy as it could be.

Seriously??! I picked up this thing called a "telephone" and I called the NIU ticket office & requested my seats be west side across from the Huskie Band but not too high up. Eric Schultz took care of it & I have had my seats ever since. How is that not easy?

Call the ticket office & get it done next year. Not hard at all! 04-cheers

5 chairbacks. Season ticket holder since 06 or possibly 07. Been trying to move closer and towards the 50 yard line each year.

this is my 49th season with 2 tickets. At one point I had 158 straight homes games. What broke the streak? A weekday home game vs Ball St when I had to be in Stamford CT for work. I watched the game at a bar restaurant called Bobby V's., a place owned by Bobby Valentine.

RE: Are you a football season ticket holder?
had 2 season tix between 2003-2007, but stopped. now w/ 2 kids (5yrs, 1 yrs), can't justify spending $200+ for 2 tix where wife works a lot of weekends, and cannot attend most games.

would rather pay more ala carte to make the 1 or 2 games per year than dole out hundreds for a lot of tickets that most likely will not be used.

What is the cost of the chairbacks? I sit in Row 50 (about 8 rows up from the chairbacks) and I think I pay about $100 per ticket, per season. Always thought of making the jump to chairbacks.

That would require an actual conversation with someone they don't know. Many parents in this country since the 80's (under the pressure of the media) have raised their kids to be so afraid of everyone they dont know (aka strangers) and now that those kids are becoming adults the older generation is finding it odd that the grown up kids are avoiding personal interaction.

This is actually something that athletics really needs to get right asap so we don't lose out on the young alums.

Ive been at the 48 since the inception of the chairbacks and have been sitting with the same folks around me for that time...I have had the chance to move closer but I prefer to stay with the same people I have sat around for the last 20+ years.

FYI I dont think Eric is there any more...my communication has been with Tim Rice, the director of HAF. If you donate(or plan to) he is the guy to contact He is a great guy and very accommodating.

Chairbacks $125 per seat donation
benchbacks $75 per seat donation

Then the normal season ticket price per seat on top of that.

$100.00 for each seat plus $100.00 seat donation for each seat. $400.00 for 2 seats total for the season.

Thanks for the information. That's not too much extra dough all things considered.

Yep, for the younger generation, the process has to be online. I expect everything I do to be online, it's the way of the world.

any speculation that the younger generation is 'incapable' of human interaction is just plain wrong. its a world of convenience. it is most convenient to spend 5 minutes online to do everything yourself than it is to spend 15-20 minutes dealing with exchange of information on the phone.

RE: Are you a football season ticket holder?
1 season ticket on and off for 15 years. The years I didn't get season tickets I still went to 3 or 4 games. The schedule was a big reason I didn't get tickets. I have sat all over the West side. I had a seat one year right under the skybox and I had a guy come out and tell me to not stand anymore because I was blocking his view.
