Just watched the officials call the worst offensive pass interference call against Notre Dame to hand the win the Florida St.
Wow.

C'mon, that was a good call. I was rooting for ND, and I can't stand JW, but that was a good call.

I've seen worse not called & I have seen less called.

IMHO, the "hold" they called is on every screen pass to the side. The 2 FSU players picked their own guy. They looked as though they were guarding the 2 guys that didn't get the ball. Then the 2 defenders were looking at each other as to whose fault it was to guard the guy who scored. It sure didn't look like they were complaining about being held.

I really didn't care who won either. Just my opinion that they called a penalty that would likely not have been called if that play happened on the 50 yard line.

It was a great call. That is a textbook pick play. Everything about it was illegal. They ran the same play to the other side earlier in the game for a TD and got away it. FSU tipped the officials off that it happened. I don't blame them for trying it again, however.

Good call. The receiver wasn't even pretending to run an actual pass route.

Oh, NOW the rules matter to the Criminoles.

The call was right. On a pick play you have to at least sell the route and they didn't. It should be a rub or pick not engaged blocking.

Thing is, he was already in the dude's way. If he keeps his hands to himself, the other receiver is still wide open.

True, but on holding plays where the action is entirely away from where the foul occurred, they usually still call it, right?

The way I saw it was there were two defenders guarding the two WR that didn't get the ball. The 3rd defender was caught behind the other 2 defenders thinking that one of his teammates was going to break off and cover the TE. This didn't happen which led to the confusion at the end with the defenders looking at each other wondering whose job was it to cover the TE. At least that is how I saw it. Maybe I don't see the rule like you guys do. Oh well. No biggie. Still think it appeared the officials were stretching to call it.

The slot receiver straight run blocked the corner who would have covered the man who caught the ball. There was no pretense of running a pass route or raising his hands as a target. That's why he drew the flag.

No way not to call that.

Agreed. It was way too egregious and blatant. But, do you think that flag is thrown in a similar scenario if the game were in South Bend? #OnlyTheShadowKnows

I think it was the right call, but no one ever really calls it.

This guys is actually saying the exact thing I said when I first saw the call at full speed. Of course, the refs didn't have this angle, and you can't review a call like this, but I think they missed it.
