I gotcha...

But then there's Taliaferro...He's gotta be up there...Granted, he didn't play until later in his career, but still very effective...and what about Trod Buggs...

RE: Marshall @ FIU
Chanston Rodgers is who I was trying to think of yesterday. He was RS in 1999 and tore his Achilles in the 2nd quarter of the 1st game in 2000 against Southeast Missouri St with like his 3rd or 4th carry. He never played another down and left the team before the 2002 season because the injury never healed properly.

Then there was always Ron Darby, what he done in the 1988 game vs Western Carolina was not human. And then one of the most physical guys in our IAA days was Orlando Hatchett.

I agree that he runs like Riggins.. I also see that you have came aboard the Johnson bandwagon.. I remember reading some of your posts on HerdFans after the first couple of games and you were skeptical that his numbers may just be a fluke and that Butler was still our better back.. Glad to see that you're a believer now

I was firmly behind Butler for sure before the season as he was clearly the best of our backs last season. Ive been in DJs corner since about game 2. The kid is a phenom and im not sure anyone seen that coming. Butler is a good back but he is no DJ. I cant say enough about DJ. If we had him last season, we might be working on undefeated season #2.

One comment about the herd poster who said "FIU was well represented in the stands and loud".... really now? Even Doc said that and i quote "we had more fans down there than they did". They need to get more fans in tha stadium as they have a pretty decent football team that i believe is a bowl team

I was at the game and their crowd was pretty bad.. We had about 3,500-4,500 to their 2,000 or 3,000 but in the first half when the game was close and they had a couple nice place the fans that were there were very loud and active.. At least as loud and as active as 3,000 people can be. They need to get more to show up but the ones who did where definitely into the game.
