Think about it, you could probably learn why online.

Oh I've thought about why App State would be our "super bowl" and have determined it is much more of a Super Bowl for you guys. Think about it. Your school is the one to "refuse" to play ours which lasted all of about a decade (in football). Next, it was your homecoming so you wanted to put on a beating to worst football program ever (according to some on this board LOL). And think of all the pressure the rest of the conference put on you guys to beat the school that keeps badgering you guys for an invitation. They were probably all hoping you'd crush us so that you guys could say we couldn't compete in the Sun Belt. Don't forget the fact that your team is desperate for wins and a loss to "the L school" would put your coaching staff on the hot seat. I just don't understand why you guys would trot out your JV squad for homecoming though? Was the greatest FCS school of all time playing somewhere else?

Don't pat yourself on the back too much. It wasn't THAT big of a deal. Those with real insight into the program know why we are having issues. The Apps would have a hard time beating a lot of FCS schools right now. We'll get the ship righted and come out of this thing stronger than ever. Many of us have been supportive of Liberty, but more posts like this and we won't be.

I appreciate the "silent majority" of supporters for Liberty by the App State fans. They have my respect and I'm thankful for them. But it's the vocal minority that take jab after jab against Liberty that I defend against and I'm sorry that the good guys get in the line of fire. If people want to talk crap to make them feel better that's fine, but they should be ready to receive some back. I know Liberty is extremely unlikely to get an invite to the Sun Belt and I know App State will probably bounce back from this season in time.

I used to be part of the silent majority, you've helped flip me, congrats.

Sarcasm is just veiled anger. LU is a punching bag for you. LU allows you to vent and verbalize internal frustration. Not once have you talked about aspects of the game. Since you profess to be one who has make a commitment to further better things for all, how about living it. Sorry for the direct comment Rev, and I expect it to enrage you more, unless under that hardened, angry, shell there is a small crack to open a little acceptance. How about that as a starter. A little acceptance of someone different than you.

Project much? I have no anger for Liberty nor most things (there are a few, but I think most are angered by them).

I don't need to talk about the game. It didn't involve my team. Liberty won, App State lost. Big deal. It changes nothing in terms of the standing of Liberty and it's desired inclusion in the Sun Belt, nor does it diminish my "fandom" (limited as it was) for App State.

In fact, the only thing I started with was a simple fact: 1,000 people traveling to a game 3 hours away is NOT a feather in the cap of Liberty. That's all. You and your Liberty folks decided to make it much more than that.
Now Rev, you are speaking untruths, you said, and have said much, much more than that on hundreds of occasions. If members of your flock knew you were saying the multitude of angry, judgmental, condemning statements you have judged LU on unlimited times, you know you would be called for your actions. You are using this forum as your bully pulpit, hiding behind a login name without having to take responsibility for your actions. How about sharing one of your numerous LU bashing posts with your flock? Would they endorse your behavior? I'm sure you are a good person. It's okay to be angry and direct that towards external sources. But it reaches a time when it begins to identify who one is when it become a mantra. Sorry Rev, this is your mantra, and it's in post after post after post.

If you picking a fight and not being able to defend yourself against little ole me is what made you switch from supporting Liberty to nonsupporting, then I have to wonder if you were ever a supporter to begin with.

You started a battle you couldn't win. Now you want to play the little me card, classic.

What do I have to defend? My program is where it should be division wise and will get better. Liberty will be on the schedule again someday and playing us in a one and done deal. Hopefully next time your fans will show up.

I hide behind nothing. And yes, I have spoken about Liberty in my sermons. They are the example of "what not to do".

And it's a clear fact: My first posts into this thread were about the 1,000 traveling fans not being a feather in the cap. There was nothing disparaging about it. It was a statement of fact: It's not something to brag about.

If I knew App was trying to join a conference and played the closest team in that conference and only brought 1,000 fans I'd question our fanbase.

As I said earlier. I BELIEVE our allotment was 1k and we sold that easily. There were also many others there. I have no official number.

I mean, I want my school into the sbc, that's why I'm here (not sure why you are), but if not the sbc no worries. LU will be in the FBS somewhere soon enough. In the mean time, big things are building whether you or anyone else like it or not. Relax.

If not the Sun Belt, where? Liberty has been desperately throwing itself at the Sun Belt for what? Three years now? The MAC is contracting and both the MAC and CUSA have zero incentive to expand.

Would you agree that if the Sun Belt adds a 12th member and it's not Liberty, that your chances of moving up are more or less dead?

Rev, it's best to let this rest. Your inability to speak in nonjudgmental terms, and relish in pointing out the faults of others, without taking any responsibility for yourself, is an example of the dogma that has turned off many to religion. You seem incapable to live you life in a way to accept others. When one has a righteous position, especially in a religious tone, it's usually an indication of one's own reflection shining through. This seems to be your position. You profess to be a religious person. Your actions speak volumes otherwise. Like many in the religious business, those who wear their faith (like many at LU and yourself), rather than living their faith, wear their faith like an armband, are on a path with more lessons of life to learn than those who choose to live a spiritual life. It's clear you are in the religion business. It's also clear you have much to learn about spirituality, for if you did, you would not judge others in sermons of what not to be and accept them for who they are. Everyone is on their individual path of life. I am glad mine is different than yours filled with anger and judgment of others. Good luck. You need it.

Believe it's time to let this thread rest. This was a game thread, not a smack thread.
If some want some love they need to get a puppy. The Rev has one cheap evidently.
You can open a thread on the smack board if you want to continue this smack.
