Home and Home Series with Pitt?
Sports Blitz (Bearcast Radio)

Quote:A source has told Sports Blitz that Cincinnati has scheduled a home and home football series with Pitt in the future!

Dates are not known at this time, and an official announcement is unknown at this time.

I can live with that. I felt like we were working on a nice little rivalry right before they jumped ship.

This was essentially stated back in August (UK as well). They are probably just hammering out dates in both contracts.

Bohn hinted around to it at the preseason kickoff.

From what it sounded like at the coach's show last Thursday from Mike the UK series isn't likely anymore. Problem is on their end. Mike has called basically every p5 school in the region so it isn't for a lack of trying.

RE: Home and Home Series with Pitt?
I think the local media reported the Pitt series a while back. Nothing was set but I remember that the series was likely years away. I wish UC would offer schools two for one deals. If USF can schedule Texas for a two for one why can't Cincinnati find a worthy power five opponent to do the same thing with. A two for one isn't all that different from playing a cross-divisional opponent in your conference.

2 for 1 for Texas, Alabama or Notre Dame... ok.

2 for 1 for Pitt, Louisville, WVU or UK no way.

I would do a two for one with Louisville because the played at Nippert last year. WVU and UK, maybe. I wouldn't rule those teams out if the opportunity is there. At the end of the day those schools provide interesting home games and easy to make road games.

I would also look at home and home options with Marshall and NIU. Once again solid G5 schools that makes for easy travel.

Couldn't agree more. I could come up with a list of maybe six schools, I would be OK with a 2 for 1. We're at a good enough stature that we should have home and homes with the lion's share of P-5 schools.

2 for 1. Are we talking basketball or football? I can't think of many schools doing it for football. Most are 1 and done or 1 for 1 with a buyout.

RE: Home and Home Series with Pitt?
Pitt just inked a home-and-home with Marshall for 2016 (in Huntington) and 2020 (at Pitt). Don't know if this means anything for this discussion...
