Tuxedo Yoda is probably the worst rumor monger on the internet. He is NEVER right. This rumor is beyond stupid. I feel dumber just for posting in this thread.

We're going to have from January to September to discuss nonsense like this.

No, some of us have basketball to discuss, too. That pushes it back to April. 03-wink

This could actually work. Each division would play in Texas at least once each year and in Florida every other year. However, the conference would suffer for lack of games among many of schools that have historic or regional ties - just like the 16-team WAC. TCU v. Kansas St.? Texas v. Texas Tech? Oklahoma v. Oklahoma St.? WVU v. Cincy?

Or, if the NCAA rules change to allow conferences more flexibility in who plays for the conference championship game, why not 4 regional divisions? Conference championship game could either be the best two division winners OR they could be simply scheduling divisions so that you play every team at least every other year - and simply take the best two teams for the conference championship game.

Texas
Texas Tech
TCU
Baylor

Oklahoma
Oklahoma St.
Kansas
Kansas St.

USF
UCF
ECU
Memphis

WVU
Iowa St.
Cincinnati
UConn

So, you play the 3 teams in your division and then 2 teams from each other division, for a total of 9 games. Play EVERYONE in the conference every other year.

OR

FOUR ZIPPER DIVISIONS
Left Teeth------Right Teeth
Texas-----------Oklahoma
TCU-------------Baylor
Kansas----------KSU
OSU-------------TTU

ECU-------------ISU
WVU------------UConn
UCF-------------USF
Memphis--------Cincy

Play 3 games against your division, then your zipper/cross-over partner, and then rotate 5 games through the remaining 11 teams. Play EVERYONE in the conference mostly every other year, but occasionally every 3 years.

As others stated earlier, nothing happens with the B12 unless they lose a school.

Oh and if the AAC loses a school, UTSA is the first replacement.
Believe it or not, these four schools add more TV sets to that league than what currently exists.07-coffee3

In addition to the conference championship game....

At the standard TV contract look in period, it enables the Big 12 to show:

1) more and better game inventory - recent and upcoming national TV lineups include: TCU v. Minnesota, Texas Tech v. UTEP, Kansas St. v. Iowa St., Texas v. Kansas. National TV partners could instead show - Texas v. UCF, Kansas St. v. Cincinnati, TCU v. ECU.

2) new markets in: Florida, NYC area, Ohio, North Carolina...and potentially Tennessee...including four 1-million+ DMAs (Tampa, Orlando, Raleigh-Durham, Hartford/NYC) and Cincinnati (876K TV households) and Memphis (653K TV households).

The Big 12 was able to get good money with Texas plus flyover territory. It can grab a lot more with real markets in the mix.

This would never happen. I see two options more likely.

1) The remaining 8 stand pat and add Wichita along with 3 or 4 A-10 schools as Olympic sports adds. This reinvigorates basketball and leaves football "as is". The strategy here would be to stay at just 7 conference games opening up an additional OOC game. With 5 OOC games, the AAC teams could feasibly fashion and SOS that is superior to most other G5's by scheduling 2-4 P5 schools each.

2) Houston and SMU exit and go to the MW. The AAC implodes.

2) Houston, SMU, and Memphis bolt for the MWC. Navy goes back to independence. The leftovers merge with C-USA...or poach from C-USA to make C-USA/AAC 3.0.

Poaching from CUSA would definitely happen. AAC ESPN contract that includes mandatory exposure and more money than CUSA is too valuable.

Good grief people. Talk about hyperbole. This is a repetitive troll by a notorious troll. No one is going anywhere. Let's work on improving the AAC.

If this happened i would hope Temple would choose independence for football and the A10 for basketball and the rest of their sports.

I'd be thrilled for UC, UCF, ECU, and UCONN if this were true.

Although I see Memphis instead of UCONN and UCONN going to the B1G.
