RE: NIU-Kent weather ... a taste of November
Get it in your heads guys, there is no more QB competition, Hare is the guy and will be for the next 2 and a half years unless he is not healthy or starts not playing well. Neither of which is the case. I'm all for getting him as much experience this year as possible, so that the next 2 years he will be a major player. Already looking forward to having an experienced Hare, TLL, Saffold, Turner, etc. on the field together next year. We will do some major damage.

Carey "names" the starting QB every week and doesn't rule out that multiple QBs will get playing time. We all know Carey isn't going to come out and commit to Hare for any significant length of time so I'm not sure why this matters. We're averaging 489 yards of offense per game so far and that number figures to go up as we progress through the MAC schedule. We averaged 520 yards of offense per game last year with Jordan Lynch. Again, I'll side with the coaches who have watched these guys practice for 15 months or whatever.
And they haven't named a guy. So is asking to see more of Maddie really that crazy of a suggestion?

I don't think anyone is sitting here saying Hare has been bad. He's been fine.

I think Carey did name Hare as the starter in his press conference. I also think he did say that Maddie will get in but everything will be dictated by the game.

From presser after LV and before ARK:

Quote:"I don't know at this point, kind of a lot of that is settled down. Drew is obviously the starter, but Anthony sure deserves a shot. We'll work through that as we get him in there and we'll go from there. Maddie has played great in the two series in the last two games he's had and so has Drew. It's a good problem to have but nonetheless a problem."

I am saying this weeks press conference Carey said basically the same thing.

Let's just build a dome so nobody on this board worries about the weather anymore.

If I ever win the lottery, I will make a big donation specifically for that purpose.

Dress as if it were a game in late fall/early winter. In other words, bundle up. DeKalb is like another country when it comes to weather. I always dress for temps 10 degrees colder than Chicago, and wind chills 20 to 30 degrees colder. I have never felt bone-rattling cold like I have in DeKalb.

RE: NIU-Kent weather ... a taste of November
Weather.com currently reporting 35 degrees in DeKalb with snow falling with a wind chill of 25 degrees. Is it really snowing? I am in the western burbs where the ground is wet ... Doesn't appear to be raining or snowing unless there is a very light mist.

Good news is the precip should be very light and ending around the time tailgating starts.

I have become so immune to rain and crap weather in the Chicago area, that I just assume it will precipitate every day. I carry an umbrella every day of the year, and I wear boots every day from December through March. Just a way of life around here.
