The first TD pass was possible as UAB gambled on a blitz.

I understand where you're coming from , but one would think UAB could cause a true freshman QB to commit some turnovers or cause some fumbles like an ODU or MTSU defense.

That's why I think some of what we saw today was fluky...in every phase of the game. As said above, we'll see how we respond to adversity.

I thought we McGoofed the QB situation today they stuck with their freshman and won. We have an shoddy offense and was finally exposed patchwork QB and Oline play.

We couldn't keep 5 guys out of the backfield with sometimes 8 bodies to protect our QB. Their safety played like he was on PCP.

A shuffle pass or a guard pull trap would have slowed down those edge rushers.

I agree with you on this one. There was significant pressure on our QBs all afternoon.

We need 2 more RBs to throw into the mix. We are getting too many miles on Howard.

And teams have figured this out already.

This is Bill Clark's first year, WTF are you talking about? Is this why you came back after being gone since April?

This has happened under every single coach. We get some momentum and positive behind us and then go out and embarrass ourselves.

The state of UAB football has nothing to do with any coach we have ever had.

Ever care to admit when you are wrong?

This crap happens every year.

I don't think this loss is on the coaching. I know you coach to eliminate mistakes but I just can't blame 6 turnovers on the coaching staff. There were two poor decisions on field goal attempts but those 6 points wouldn't have changed the eventual outcome.

Well the play calling was terrible , also we played with FIU early in the game when it came to fourth down trying to draw them offsides. Punt get it over with regroup on the sideline.

The play calling was particular bad against AAMU as well.

When all else fails the double TE set should move the ball since we have a legit second TE. Put Hump and JJ on the edge, I probably might go Magee or Staples can't out run JJ though.

I agree. I thought the play calling was bad in this game.

Yeah--in hindsight, if we would've run Howard and Vinson ad nauseum, sprinkled in a few passes over the middle, and traded punts, we probably would've won the game.

RE: FIU GAME THREAD
I think the coaches definitely could have called some more effective plays at times (do we have a screen pass at all?) but I don't know that they've been able to implement a full playbook yet. This is still just a first year coaching staff for this team. Even if we blame every punting situation on bad playcalling, if the turnovers are removed we win the game.

Edit: I do think 6 points were left on the field due to poor decisions in field goal situations.
