Nope. Florida is just that bad.

Yeah their coaching not the players, they both have some studs and both are bringing in more talented recruits.

Well, we haven't played Mizzou or Texas A&M, but yeah. Honestly, at this point, my reaction to that mirrors Saban's: it's not up to the people actually on-campus in Tuscaloosa (though it should be) so why worry about it? We're fine without them and vice-versa.

If we haven't played Texas A&M, then who did I watch UAB play in College Station in 2009?

After a brief search, I saw that we played Missouri on 9/4/99. You were saying?

I don't think most people think it's an easy win...but it's a $$ game that we have a very realistic shot at winning (as opposed to a super long shot)

Not to be a smartazz but the game is two years away. How do we know in 2014 that we have a very realistic shot to beat UK two years from now?

If you want a home and home with a P5 school to happen, schedule the Big 12 or ACC. Most of their teams cannot afford a buy out. If you think a home and home is going to happen with an SEC team anytime soon, keep dreaming. Screw them.

+1

Give me the ACC, I'll take the big 12 when we move to the western division.

We don't know which is the point I was trying to make. I would also say UAB has never been favored to beat a SEC opponent.

Put it this way - it looks, to my unbiased eye, like a lot easier trip than LSU, or Tennessee, or Oklahoma, or Ohio State, or any number of other money games. It's still an SEC opponent, we'll make good money (although probably not as much), and we'll have a much more legit chance to walk away with a win.

It's not a gimme, they've already showed this season that they're improving... but it's one we can have a legit hope to win.

They have, to my knowledge, played UAB at Legion Field twice now, and they have now visited South Alabama in Mobile.

Say what you want about the Bulldogs... they are the SEC team I truly respect.

MSU even hosted Southern Miss in their first game this season. It was the first time these two teams have played against each other since 1990. Why? Because MSU got tired of losing to them. Southern Miss still leads the series 14-13-1.

Nope. Florida is just that bad.

Yeah their coaching not the players, they both have some studs and both are bringing in more talented recruits.

FAU probably had more offensive success against roll tide than Florida did. If not for having 3 touchdowns giftwrapped to them via turnovers, Florida would have been shut out. Kentucky is probably still plain old Kentucky.

And plain old Kentucky could still beat us by 20. I'd rather have a plain old Wake Forrest, who one of those Louisiana schools beat to start the season.

Plain old Kentucky would struggle mightily to beat anyone by 20.

Speaking of teams that start with a "K", we need to get Kansas back on the schedule!

RE: UAB FB vs Kentucky in 2016?
Given the usual attrition over any 4 years, it is probable that a large portion of both team's impact players will be players not now on either squad by the 2016 season. I hope our new guys and vets are able to defeat their new guys and vets.

KY, like any primarily basketball school, has difficulty recruiting large numbers of the "ESPN 100" type player for football. Primarily football schools generally have the same problem recruiting very many similarly gifted basketball players (McDonald's All Americans, etc.) as well.

If UAB has to take its lumps playing any P5 team, I hope we play the team offering the 7 digit pay day.

Oh, by struggling you mean the way they beat UTM 59-14 and Ohio (a bowl team last year) 20-3? People forget that Kentucky has a decent coach now in his 2nd year and still recruits SEC caliber athletes, even in their worst years. Too bad we caught Vandy 1 year too early.
