One of those ideals is electing competent leadership that makes sound decisions and does not lie to us and the rest of the world. Perhaps the fact that he is in front of the UN is the most striking example of us failing to live up to those ideals.

Depends on how you define "wrong."

If by "wrong" you mean factually incorrect, then we are into a lot of gray areas. He said many things that I believe to be false that you--and apparently he--believe to be true. Listing those and debating them might be a useful exercise, but most likely pointless in the end. I think he's already gotten some Pinocchios or the equivalent from our media arbiters of truth, so I'll let those stand for now.

If by "wrong" you mean inappropriate for the occasion, I would say virtually the entire speech. It set the wrong tone. That's not the place to make those sorts of disclosures--even if true. This isn't an apology tour. We're not going to make the world like us. The best we can do is to convince them that they don't want to tangle with us. That speech doesn't promote that objective.

This speech was to appeal to his political base with an election coming, not to advance the cause of defeating terrorism.

Second. What do you think is false? To me it's an innocuous statement. What in the world deserved that first page? Honestly.

Frankly, I thought it was one of the best speeches he's given in a long time.

Surprisingly enough, many on Fox News felt the same way.
