How appropriate. The only way that shot yields an ankle injury is if the Michigan player's foot is in his mouth at the time of the strike which is an apt visual image for Hoke's excuse of a defense.

Rich Rod is more to blame for the fans being fed up.
If Rodriguez were still in Ann Arbor, the talking heads would be debating which was the better team between Michigan and Michigan State. Hoke's best teams were built by RichRod. Now that Hoke has his own players in place, they've forgotten how to play.
Rich Rod could probably get away with crying at an alumni dinner at WVU not Michigan.
Hoke won with RR's players argument is weak.
RR could not win with Carr's players not even four games.
They beat Florida in a bowl game in just a few months earlier.
Ryan Mallet was going to be better than Henne he was at Arkansas. Bitchrod is a system coach that was his problem .
The Michigan man stuff is a myth were all the candidates Michigan men. What school wouldn't consider Miles or Harbaugh if they had ties to their school?
RichRod is a system coach. But his system has worked everywhere he's been, once he got his players in place. Carr's players weren't able to play in a spread offense, which is built upon speed, not power football. RichRod always used smaller, faster players, and Carr's players weren't fast enough to execute the spread game properly. All RR needed was Jeff Casteel to run his defense.
However, you can think what you want about him. Frankly, I'm glad Michigan gave up on him. I wanted to see him fail at Michigan, and he did. I also wanted to see Michigan go into the tank. They did. I'm highly pleased by the outcome.
Rodriguez lost the vast majority of his fans in WV. I have no desire to see him back in Morgantown. But he can coach, and I can respect that. There are some WV Fans who would love to see him return. But I'm not one of them.

The pressure isn't the same because WVU is not a big time program or Holgerson would be gone. Last year he was on the hot seat. How long before he gets the axe 23-19 is a bit of a drop off.
I was for Rodriguez getting a fourth year.
The crying thing was over the top.
The fact he played a sappy ass song and cried.
Josh Grobin was interviewed and was embarrassed by it.

I thought the sappy part was hilarious, frankly. But like I said, I was hoping he'd fail there, and that Michigan would descend into mediocrity. It worked out perfectly for me.
But Michigan's impatience discarded a good coach for one that never should have been hired in the first place. He's made Michigan a joke. Rodriguez would have had every running like clockwork by now. So Michigan's impatience was their own worst enemy here. There's no other way to look at it.
The fact that Michigan demands instant gratification is going to bite them again. B1G country isn't loaded with recruits any longer. Coaches will have to work harder to persuade recruits to come north, since what southerner wants to head up where winter is a royal pain.
