I agree 100%. I didn't agree with your 2 point idea, however.

Normally I wouldn't suggest going for two down 24.

But as we saw, a 3 score game is a lot for this team to overcome with it's defensive shortcomings.

If you make it 24-8, you make it a 2 possession game (albeit a long shot).

But if you covert one and fail on one it's the same as kicking two extra points. If you convert them both after scores it would be a one score game.

Again normally I wouldn't recommend this but with our team unable to get stops, it's actually a good idea to get as many points as possible.

In the end it didn't matter tonight......but it might have.

He was sitting in my section. Him and his crew were MTSU fans, had a picture of junk and a MTSU tattoo written on his back. His friend was asking the ODU fans who wanted to see his junk.

I think this game really tells us where we are and where we need to be to be competive in the upper tier CUSA. I don't think we're that far away, and think we still have an excellent shot at 6-6, 5-7 worse case. MT was clearly bigger and noticeably faster. This is not a huge hurdle. Absolutely no shame losing to upper tier teams this year. Just gotta win the winnable ones and keep gaining experience. Last nights optics were great. I look for lots more national games in the future. Not happy with the loss, but all in all I think we're in very good shape.

Agreed. Love the way we battled after digging a big hole. You just can't turn the ball over against good teams.

I agree. More experience and a few more successful years recruiting and developing bigger, stronger, faster players and we'll be right where we need to be-- consistently in the top tier of the conference. When all is said and done, I think there are very few people out there who would have thought we'd even be where we are today. Still would have been nice to get the W last night.

Even with this game aside, the closest thing we have to a guaranteed loss on the rest of the schedule is Marshall and the jury is out on Vanderbilt if they can organize before we play them (read: UNC). Otherwise, I see a couple almost guaranteed wins and about 5 games that could go either way. We could quite possibly win 4 more games this year.

^^^ +1. We're in the toughest stretch of our schedule right now. Let's just hope we get through it relatively healthy.

I really did not understand why delay of game was not called on this play.
The clock was clearly at 00before the snap.
That play broke the back!
What also got me was that I did not even see BW argue that the clock had run out. The 12th Monarchs were loud and proud for that one. That was the dagger!

Our touchdown was in the 2nd quarter. There was next to no chance that we hold MTSU scoreless for the entire second half. Even if we hold them to just 3 in the second half they are at 27. Clearly you want to kick 4 extra points in that scenario.

RE: MTSU game #5
I must say it was a beautiful night for a football game. Perfect weather and impressive tailgating the campus looked great. The 12th monarch did their part. My first home game ever and want to thank 78 for showing me around and meeting everybody we could. The game didn't go well but overall I was impressed. The streaker was the high point of the night and he ran over like 4 or 5 people until they could take him down. The 2 female security officers looked extremely happy to be involved in the chase. Im going to my 40th high school reunion tonight and I thought I was having a flashback to 1973-74. Anyway. we can surely do much better than this.

See I thought it was a delay, too, and looked to me like the defense did, too, and that is how they got beat on the play. Clock on the field was definitely at 0.

I played the DVR slo mo and it was really very close. Can't really fault the refs for not calling it but I can fault the defense if they were watching the clock.
