I'm a fan of Pedro Bradshaw. He is in the mold if Tarpey (IMO a more natural scorer though) and an outstanding rebounder at 6'5. We will have to fight off many suitors, but it's my understanding that he is a recruiting priority.

With the size of his hands and feet and that wingspan, you wonder if he is going to hit a late growth spurt. Concern is whether he will ever have the foot quickness to cover quicker guards on the perimeter. Does not have Terry's hops. Intelligent ballplayer.

I can't see the tribe being a wonderful man defense team in the immediate future. We are most effective in the zone where Bradshaws length could be the most effective. He can effect shots, rebound, and shoot passing lanes. He mentioned that he is 6'7 now & I see him more in a forward role than a guard. He's not Tarpey. Nobody is. I compare him to him because I think he can do a lot on the floor and influence the game a lot of ways.

Offers from GMU, Rice, JMU

Quote from the article makes me think we would be high on his list.

“Academics are going to be huge for me,” said Scott. “I am looking to major in finance or business. Also I want to go to a school with a strong basketball program.”

Academics - check
Good business school - check
Strong program - check

Add to that proximity to home as a plus

When he visits our school of business he will be impressed. I took my son on a college visit to Tennessee and they were touting their school as modern and cutting edge. Ours blew it away.

RE: 2017 Men's Basketball Recruiting
In the article Scott mentions he also has an offer from Hofstra. As Mr. J said, we check all his boxes and he would be a great get for us. Seems like a guy primed to blow up this summer and he is on the radar of some top 25 schools. Gonzaga and the WCAC provide great competition and a great league too. Would love to see him sign this spring. If acadmics are as important to him as he says, we would be a great fit and he would be a great guy to come in and pick up right where Omar and Dixon leave off which is hopefully as 2016-17 CAA champions.

Very timely Bloomberg article I found puts w&m #12 of the top undergrad business schools in America. Not sure if it even matters to him, but none of Scott's other listed suitors are anywhere to be found.

Geo Baker and Eddie Scott would sure make a solid foundation for this 3 recruit class (unless we get a 2016 undergrad transfer)...Both will be tough to get unless finessed before the July period...Scott will get big exposure with Team Takeover in the EBYL.

Didn't think we had a chance to hang in with Alex O'Connell, and still may not, but nice to see us on his list with all the majors, although the writer proceeded to push us aside and focused solely on the majors.
"There are a few schools which have recruited me really hard for a while," O'Connell said. "Clemson, Georgia, Auburn, William & Mary, Kansas State and Ole Miss."

We seem to check all of O'Connell's (fairly vague) preferences. From the article:
'"The right fit of a program, somewhere if I wasn't playing basketball I could still be happy as a student, a good coaching staff and a school that needs me instead of wants me."'

I'm pretty sure none of the interested schools listed including W&M "needs" O'Connell. Though, I'm pretty sure every school will sell it that way.

RE: 2017 Men's Basketball Recruiting
I guess I was thinking of WM's need relative to the other big programs mentioned but you're right, WM doesn't absolutely need him. I'm sure he's super talented and still growing but he looks thinner than Rowley. Wonder how that translates to the next level, especially when playing a team like Towson.
