We have one player on the roster currently listed as being over 6-8 (hopefully Mareik has grown), and he is a senior. We have three spots open, and our first commit is a guard. It does not take a brain surgeon to see where our emphasis needs to be from here on.

As some have mentioned in the past, it's more difficult for mid majors to sign 6'10" guys who are good enough to play D1 ball. Most are projects which take a lot of time. Whereas the SBC has had many 6'6" guys who can play. As for the guard we're supposedly signing, he is said to be a point guard, and with Devonte leaving after this season, we will need a Freshman point guard, and hopefully this young man is a good one. Next season we'll still be pretty salty inside with James, Roger, Mariek and Marius all back. I agree that we need to sign a big man who can play, but it's a crap shoot. Like Poulter. He had the size, but didn't work out here. You win some and you lose some.

Who knows what James situation, health wise, will be. So now we're left with Mariek, Roger and Marius. Roger and Marius are too short to guard 6'8"+ guys who can play. And B. Mitchell wants Mariek to play the three, so with Gus leaving, we have absolutely no size inside. After twelve years, how did we allow this to happen?
