Coach Clark has roots, family, etc. All the things that keep people bound to where they are and where they want to be. His Dad was a well-known coach around the state. His kids are the right age to want to stay in the state/region. Some of his coaching staff have been with him for awhile. All of these things have a confluence of "rightness" for UAB: Right place, time, and person (people). Thus, we are where we are at this point and time. You might say our stars are aligned right now.
I agree, but I once believed the same thing about Mike Anderson too.

The difference is that we would not have any problems hiring Anderson back if a position were to come open.
We wouldn't take McGee back even if he paid us.

I do know this: If UAB is 6-1 going into the Arky game, UAB should be ranked around 20th or so.
Defeat Arkansas and Marshall, the C-USA title is pretty much wrapped up for the Southside.

Marshall, not Arkansas, will be the biggest test of the rest of the season for UAB.

I think even most Georgia fans agree with this. Forget about this dreamer.

Perhaps, but Arkansas has some freakin' Hosses on their line and in their backfield. I haven't looked at the stats, but I'd just about bet the farm that they have the biggest O line of the teams left on our schedule (and probably bigger than MSU's line as well).

They are MUCH better than they have been in a couple of years. Playing Arkansas in Fayetteville will be a heck of a lot tougher than playing Marshall at home. It's tough just getting there!

What I see as the biggest test will be Western Kentucky on the road. I already think this team can beat FIU and Southern Miss. If they can beat WKU on the road, I think they can also beat North Texas at home and Fla Atl on the road. This will give them 7 wins and will most likely put them into a bowl.

UAB football is about 2-3 plays away in Starkville from most likely being ranked in the AP Top 25.
With all honesty, NO.
We are 2-3 plays away from being out of the bottom 25.
It takes time to work your way up.
USA Today has us at 82. If you don't start out fairly high ranked, moving up takes a lot of time.

yes. cbssports has us at 100, CFN at 87. no way the AP or coaches has us in the top 25 with just one more win (over a team that also isn't in the top 25)

What does Arkansas have to do with the C-USA title? And we can only win the division during the season. There is a championship game.

Seriously? MSU has played two C-USA teams and a Sun Belt team. Beating MSU would have been sweet, but not that sweet.
Otherwise UAB has a win over a 0-3 team (Troy) and another win over a non-D1 school (AAMU).

The month of Oct is the most important next to FIU game. We'll start to see who the pretenders or contenders are in the league
