First chance for our program to get a revenge win. The Eagles gave us our first loss ever last year ending 64 years of being undefeated!

We had 500+ yards of offense in that game but it meant nothing since we turned the ball over 7 times including QB Matt Johnson passing it to the Eagles instead of us 5 times.

Keys to the game:
  • Don't turn the ball over
  • Don't make bad throws
  • Establish the run early

Do you expect this to become a regular game? NC Central has done pretty good with basketball and football scheduling of teams in NC past few years and they travel well.

they must have gotten lost on the way to their stadium.

I don't expect it to become a regular game. I figure we'll rotate through FCS programs in NC, SC, and Georgia.

Not sure what the F we are doing but we let NCCU back in it with 3:54 40-28. Our 2nd team defense isn't good.

Our backups are horrendous. We've given up 28 points in the 4th quarter!

Another win that I'm not happy with. The team should spend half of Monday's practice running sprints and laps.

I was in the stadium and let me just say that it was awesome till we put our backups in and then the wheels came off. By then the Eagles got their confidence back.

NEVER EVER EVER PUT THE BACKUPS IN TILL HALFWAY INTO THE 4th QUARTER!!!!

This win, which I honestly didn't even think we'd win, wound up feeling more like a loss; which is a weird feeling to have.

yep. I put the poor performance in the fourth more on the coaches than the players. It was way too early to put the backups in. Sticking a few out there on offense and defense would have been okay, but I think I heard the radio team say at one point we had 0 starting o linemen in there.

I'd hope we never again swap out our starters wholesale unless the opponent was doing the same thing. That was an ugly quarter and makes the game look much closer than it was.

I really hope that was just a big chemistry experiment gone wrong. Quarters like that are why rotations exist, filter in a few backups with some starters.

I'll take the win and the revenge for last year's loss... I don't pay attention to opponents points verses the second and third string in a blow out!

I wasn't happy during the 4th quarter. I'm happy as can be with 3-0. We're way better than we were last season, still just not very deep. That'll come in time. I do hope that should we find ourselves with another 40 point lead that we try to extend it to 70.

I get that but wasn't that with our backups playing? I mean we were up 40-0 on a team that whooped us last year. Might as well get the backups some reps.

It was definitely with the backups playing. I got caught up in it, you know how I can be. 03-banghead LOL

Well, I was kind if right. The experience factor came into play in the last 18 minutes if the game. The good thing about a 40 - 0 lead is that you can hiccup in the fourth and be ok.

Despite the Lamentations of the Nation about the 4th quarter, we really did kick the biz out if NCCU on Saturday. From Johnson to Duke on the first play from scrimmage to Tank's pick, we beat this team badly. We were better and I think in the 2nd quarter their players figured it out and gave up.

Charlotte spent the 3rd quarter giving up dink and dunk plays that kept the clock running and tried to do the same in the fourth. The backup couldn't make it happen, but lesson learned.

We learned a lot about our team Saturday, and most of it was good.

Our 1's punked them and backups tanked it, great opportunity for them to learn and grow which is beneficial for the future of the program. Sure it sucked having them make a run, however we won and have plenty of takeaways from the game to improve.

It's not the worst time in your program's history to try weird stuff like mass subbing early. Wins are nice but you're playing to get better for next year, when IT'S HAPPENING. Sorta like a minor-league baseball team. Win your league's title? Hey, that's nice. Suck on ice while properly developing future stars? That's what they pay you the big bucks for.
