Full Page NIU Ad
There's been some excitement in DeKalb/Chicagoland area this morning. Full page ads in both the Tribune and the Sun-Times.

Wow, that takes some cojones. Good play by NIU.
That's the sort of assertiveness that MAC teams need to show.

The NIU Foundation dropped 17,000 to put that as in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, and the NIU newspaper. There will also be an ad in the Daily Herald (a very popular suburban newspaper)
A few years back for the OB, they dropped a similar as in all the papers claiming to be the best team in the state.

Should have put it in the UIUC paper, not the NIU one.

I agree. I think they also wanted to see NIU students to have the paper and spread the word. It certainly was good in the Chicago papers because of so many Illini alums.
The Illini paper would have made some serious waves.

Isn't Chicago the home of the B1G offices.
"Mr. Dulaney, here is your copy of today's Tribune" said the B1G intern from Northwestern.
And then the Commish opens it and reads it...
Jim Dulaney's bowels must be in an uproar.

"B1G pride" after last Saturday is an oxymoron.

You're kinda nitpicking here.
Rosemont borders O'Hare Airport, which is in the city of Chicago.

and DeKalb is closer to Rosemont then downtown Chicago.
Maybe NIU could have gotten a marathon runner to hand deliver (by running) the paper to the B1G offices.
Actually the big problem with my post is that I misspelled the Commish's name. Ugh, no respect!!!

You must have gotten stuck in an epic traffic jam on 90 before.
...mileage wise its not even close
60 miles Highway driving NIU to B1G office
17 miles of Highway driving B1G office to Chicago Loop

I think he might have been saying that DeKalb is closer to Rosemont than DeKalb is closer to Chicago.
