We lost 3 starters and I think OL was at or near the top of the list of concerns for us. I think these concerns can be put to rest assuming the OL stays healthy.

Fisher, Mann, Butler have been fantastic, imo...and we saw very good blocking vs. a talented and FBS level defensive line. We should get Mewbourne back at LT, which should be a huge improvement as LT as been the biggest issue so far (IMO). Bottoms switches over to RT.

As importantly, we have some depth bc I thought Compton played fairly well.

And don't forget Garcia is a talented freshman and we should get Martinez and Matiarena back next year.

Now, my concerns shift to WR and how we need to improve in that area.

I must admit I am very very surprised. Shocked may be a better term.
I have been more than concerned about our OL since Born went down. The performance was noticeably degraded after that, and the prospect of this year without Born AND Morrell seemed to be a recipe for disaster.

Kudos to both the coaches and players. 03-thumbsup

Tyler Fisher has played his butt off. That guy may be an NFL prospect.

Feeling much better about the offensive line. Some of these new guys are playing very well.

Did anyone else notice that Matiarena is no longer on the depth chart? Any idea what's going on there?

I saw a picture of him, Martinez, Adams-Hurd and Clarke looking like they were watcing the game together in a dorm. I'm guessing they all redshirt for various reasons.

It may just be because Burns has played well in limited opportunities. Probably wouldn't be too concerned unless we hear from Harry he's kicked off or something.
