Assuming it passes inspection that is.

Quote: A preschooler at West Hoke Elementary School ate three chicken nuggets for lunch Jan. 30 because the school told her the lunch her mother packed was not nutritious.

The girl’s turkey and cheese sandwich, banana, potato chips, and apple juice did not meet U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines, according to the interpretation of the person who was inspecting all lunch boxes in the classroom that day.

Free means you didn't have to pay...It doesn't mean someone else didn't. Again, federal tax dollars are not yours...it's money you OWE your government for living in this nation.

If you don't like how OUR elected officials spent the governments money...vote them out of run for office...but looking at the numbers for incumbents, that simply isn't happening.

Yes, the money is ours, and I imagine that the vast majority of us wouldn't have a problem paying our fair share if the stuff we were paying for was a legitimate government expense, which contrary to popular belief among you leftists feeding Memphis schoolchildren three squares a day isn't on that list.

As for the second part, we are trying but it's hard to do hen you have idiots like yourself who think that government grants are free money.

RE: Public Schools Forcibly Subject Students To ‘Meatless Monday’ Activism
Quote:The Daily Caller article talks ominously about “taxpayer-funded public schools across the United States are now denying children the option of eating meat for lunch one day each week.” Well, local taxpayers (and other voters) will ultimately get to control what the schools offer in their cafeterias, just as such matters have long been ultimately left to voters’ control. But whatever they choose, they should choose without worrying that their choice “force[s]” children not to eat the things that are not chosen.

I can't. The account is overdrawn buying Honeybooboos three meals a day, paying for cell phones for hoodrats, paying to develop a video game that simulates the senior prom, paying for a study that shows golfers who imagine the holes is bigger are more accurate, paying to develop a robotic squirrel, paying to study romance on the web........you get the point. BTW, every item mentioned either is an ongoing federal expense or was a recent government expense.

I have no problem paying my fair share, but only if it is for the common defense of the country, for national infrastructure, and meaningful research that has a tangible benefit to society as a whole. If your local school district wants to feed their students three meals a day then they need to raise your taxes, not mine.

You must have failed civics...

You realize that parents pay for lunches in school cafeterias, right?

They not only pay for their kid's lunch but for all the other kid's "reduced fee" lunches as well.

I had to have free lunch in middle school, mighty glad for it or I might not have always ate during lunch time. You guys really fail to see that there are many kids who can't simply afford lunchables or meats, it was pb&j or bread and cheese or bust without that free lunch. Single mom working a security job with 3 kids while not getting much if any child support while trying to keep up with rent and food just for dinner.
