RE: Ray Rice Knockout Video
The NFL is more WWE than the WWE these days.

Tomorrow the NFL players association is likely going to sue the NFL for Rice's reinstatement. Among the things they will possibly claim is some form of double jeopardy (Rice being punished twice for the same offense).

NBA has not really had this big of a problem. Their arrest rate is less than 2% the last few years which is less than half of the US arrest rate.

Agree, I feel the NBA has always unfairly been given a bad rep, especially among hockey fans I've noticed. If NBA players get into a fight during the game they are called thugs but it happens in hockey all the time and everyone says "that's just part of the game." And don't get me wrong I enjoy both sports but there seems to be a bit of a double standard.

RE: Ray Rice Knockout Video
Here's my take on this:

It has been reported the couple drank heavily and were arguing before getting into the elevator, so let's assume that's true. In the elevator we see the wife escalate the argument by spitting on Rice. Rice then instantly reacts with a single blow. He didn't chase her, he didn't continue hitting her, he didn't do anything premeditated. The cops let it go.

So now the couple decides to work it out and the NFL say "no, you can't work it out, we have to work it out for you in a manner where you both suffer." This is where I believe the NFL is wrong because they are both the judge and jury in the private lives of these two people. Now if the players ostracized Rice or if they otherwise handled it their own way, that would be different.

If people want to get all uppity about how men treat women then they would ***** and moan about Mike Tyson being able to be on TV shows and the like. Or they would ***** about Bill Clinton, and there's a lot to ***** about with that guy. Or they would ***** about how women are portrayed in rap music.

The woman has obviously forgiven him and I'm betting he paid dearly for that forgiveness. This is none of the NFL's business.

And another thing. If Rice was represented by the teacher's union and they forced the NFL to bow down like they do everyone else, Rice never would have been suspended at all.
