Single High Safety Defense
I hate how we take our safeties out of play due to their deep alignment. Dean Marlowe is our best defensive player and he is a non factor 22 yards away from the line of scrimmage. I thought the Dukes were just playing it ultra conservative against Stephon Diggs when we played Maryland but I now I see it is our defensive strategy since we did it against LU.

Anyone else notice this defensive positioning by our safeties?

Glad we won. Go Dukes.

They also switch it where Marlowe is like a nickel corner at the line of scrimmage.
He needs to play with the ball in front of him to be more effective. His safety skills are better than his corner skills.

RE: Single High Safety Defense
Agree, and I even made a separate thread about it because it's pissing me off so bad. This is typically what you do when you have an absolute burner on the other team but why on Lehigh? This is the defense that teams played on the Eagles last year because of DeSean Jackson. You also see it with guys like Calvin Johnson and the two ATL receivers and AJ Green etc. This isn't his strength. Play Reynolds and Wilson outside and play Moreland in the slot. He seems to be suited for that right now because those guys don't run as many double move routes which he's bitten on for TDs two weeks in a row.
