Yeah, millions of Americans lost their coverage, no big whoop.
Disgusting liberal.
You don't have to be a liberal to support the ACA. I'm more of a moderate.

So you have some issues where you lean left, of which we are aware. You must obviously have other issues where you lean centrist or right. So far you have not made us aware of any of those. What are they?

Morally I have a problem with them. I'd like there to be a lot less of them but wouldn't go so far as to advocate them being completely illegal. I support a program that works with pregnant girls to give them the means and support to carry their pregnancies to term.

It all depends on who you polled. If you polled the people in the spin room you are probably right, but the spin room skews pretty far to the right so I don't think it is too representative.04-cheers

Dude, I'm a moderate conservative and if you asked why I would say abortion and gun control.

Try again.

You don't have to have a gun and you don't have to get an abortion, but you do have to buy health insurance that's useless unless you can afford the out of pocket costs of actually getting treated, and that means you have to find a doctor who would accept an Obamacare plan and, as I've recently discovered -PERSONALLY - some, possibly many, wont' take Obamacare policies. And if you find one that does, it could take weeks or months to get an appointment.

Tell me, how many paupers who are leeching off of me are seeing doctors? They might have insurance, but they can't afford to see a doctor.

You look at something and say "wow, a rainbow and a unicorn, I must be in a perfect world." and then the psychedelic drugs wear off. Your problem is the drugs aren't wearing off.

You look at something and say "wow, a rainbow and a unicorn, I must be in a perfect world." and then the psychedelic drugs wear off. Your problem is the drugs aren't wearing off.

There have always been co-payments and deductibles. You act like they are something new. Some private insurance policies have narrower networks than others. You have to be a wise consumer and investigate that sort of thing before you pick a plan. It isn't anyone's fault but yours if you failed to do that and now find the doctor you want to see isn't in the network. Every time someone can't get an appointment within a week they blame it on the ACA. That is BS. There have always been doctors that keep a full appointment schedule and you have to wait to see. That isn't anything new.

I might spend a lot more for medical treatment than you, maybe not, but people spend what they have to on what they have to. If someone doesn't value their health or their loved one's health enough to make that a budgeting priority then that is on them. There are a lot of things I would rather spend my money on but I don't.

Medicine costs run about $400 a month in my household and none of it is psychedelics. Specialists are $70 a pop and we see 2 or 3 in a good month, 4 or more in a bad one. We've been in the emergency room twice this summer and spent 9 total days in the hospital. I'm looking for a deal on a wheelchair right now. I have to take half and whole days off of work regularly and with my job taking time off is a major disruption and delays my eventual retirement.

On the bright side I've got a dear friend that is giving us her late husband's scooter for the cost of replacing the tires and battery, the cap on medical costs was reached on the second hospital stay and the prescriptions cap is $2,500 and I figure we'll hit it around the end of October. I've been able to avoid having the hospital turn our account over to the collection agency through timely if not large payments that seem to last forever.

So no there are no unicorns, rainbows or psychedelics in my world. There aren't any subsidized ACA plans either if that is what you are assuming. There is a clear understanding that the health care system in the US has been broken for a long time and the ACA while by no stretch the perfect solution is going a long way in improving the situation. Without insurance we would have lost everything we have worked our entire lives for, our daughter wouldn't be able to continue in college, and we would be a burden to society. We need as many people with insurance as possible.

That would be according you your definition. I view moderate positions on issues as those that tend to not conform to the views of the far left or far right but look for a middle ground. We tend to be pragmatists that get accused of not standing on principle by the extremists. I don't think unions or corporations are saints or devils. I think there have to be checks on each but each should be able to function without having their hands tied behind their backs. If I were far left I would have been pushing for single payer, far right do little or nothing. Supporting the ACA is reasonable position that can be opposed by people with equally reasonable positions.

Moderate would be for setting some reasonable limits on when abortion can or can not happen. I've seen folks say 18 weeks, or viability. Both of those are too late for me but I could call them moderate.

Saying "I don't like it but people should be able to abort whenever" is not a moderate position.

When did I say what you quoted me as saying above? I didn't. I think limits like you mention are reasonable, but I'd like there to be as few at any point in pregnancy as is possible.
