A bidding war for low Div 1 lambs...this will have a negative impact on a couple BE schools--for the BE it means more home games. We saw evidence of the bidding process with Marquette and Wisc-Milwaukee a few months ago.

Southern Miss of few years ago actually sold a CUSA home conference game against Marquette back to Marquette (it was played in Milwaukee).

Wow, UTEP must have been really desperate for a last minute game to drop $90,000 to play UCR. They've only been drawing 7500 or so for their other bodybag games so they can't be making a ton after the payout.

I thought the same thing--Cuse and UL can afford that but not UTEP...also, UTEP really only has NMSU close by--any other Div 1A team is at least 4-5 hours away. With 300+ Div 1A teams the big boy schools can most likely negotiate off one low major against another if they plan ahead.

Nobody cares if it is Chicago St or Albany U or Lipscomb they'll pretty much all generate the same (zero) excitement for the fan base.
