BYU can't get an Access Bowl game. It is playoff or bust for them:

Follow It's either semifinals or nothing for BYU. They aren't eligible for the "Group of 5" spot in a major bowl because they're not in a league.

They can technically still get an access bowl spot, just not the Group of 5 spot. The committee will be choosing the at large teams for the Fiesta, Cotton, and Peach bowls and BYU can be chosen there.
