They don't recruit there.

There aren't very many recruits up there with some exception of Ohio, but with the B1G and MAC that is already oversaturated.

Their fans aren't interested. Several ACC/SEC schools would rather play an in-state FCS team than anybody from Yankee country.

If you win ... so what ... unless it is 2 or 3 B1G teams that are ranked it won't do much for you.

If you lose ... on the other hand ... you'll plummet in the rankings.

Nothing to gain.

This is true for the SEC, but the ACC is weak.

That sounds like something cowardly southern schools would say.

It applies to everybody in the ACC south of Charlottesville.

The only team in Yankee country of interest to GT is Notre Dame. GT prefers to play a SEC team in addition to the rivalry game against the inbred retards in Athens, and then a nearby FCS. In recent years they've played Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss State, Vanderbilt, and Georgia.

Clemson prefers to play a SEC team in addition to the rivalry game against USC-E and then an in-state FCS for recruiting/coaching reasons. In recent years they've played Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, and USC-E. If Clemson fans have interest in a Yankee team it is Notre Dame, but even that I'm not sure about.

Florida State prefers to play a power team as close as possible to the southeast in addition to the rivalry game against Florida. Beyond that a nearby FCS. If FSU fans have interest in a Yankee team it is Notre Dame, but even that I'm not sure about.

All four of the NC schools prefer to play all 3 of the other NC schools. They are interested in playing ND (with possible exception to NCST). Beyond that .... no Yankee interest. Duke may get a possible exception for Rutgers or Syracuse with all their (damned) Yankee students. Beyond that they want a in state FCS.

VT prefers to play a team from the SEC (preferably East) and as many deep south and NC ACC teams as possible. In recent years they've played Alabama and LSU and have Tennessee on the schedule. If VT fans have interest in a Yankee team it is Notre Dame, but even that I'm not sure about.

UVA is close enough to DC it is questionable whether it actually qualifies as Southern.

Things flip on their head as you hit Pitt and go northward. For example, Pitt wants to play Pedo State. Pedo State won't schedule it. All the Yankee ACC teams want to play a game in FL and Georgia Tech for recruiting, and then a eastern B1G team and NE FCS.

You can gripe about SOS and accuse some of the northern ACC teams of cowardice ... but you've got no argument on VT, GT, FSU, Miami, and Clemson. The four NC schools are really far more insular then you realize.

Generally agree but just wanted to mention VT is playing Ohio State in Columbus this weekend.

ACC = Pac-12 East

The two conferences have similar identity, similar geographical makeup, similar academic profiles, similar desire to compete and compete for titles in all sports, and similar disdain for the SEC and B1G.

Why don't the SEC cross the line, but the Northern schools do... The paydays.. You think the SEC or any of their schools will lose millions of dollars by playing in Ann Arbor when they can play in Arlington and both teams make enough money to cremate 3 wet elephants? Haven't you learn that college football is just about how much money the conferences and college athletic programs make?

I'm pumped for LSU's return trip to Lambeau....could be the best tailgating experience of all-time imo.

LSU, UGA, Tennessee and 'Bama have all played games outside of the SEC footprint in recent years. Besides, when these inter-sectional games happen down south, they are frequently played either in domes or at night to mitigate the weather issue. Clearly similar concessions are being made since SEC teams will be playing at Lambeau Field and ND Stadium in the near future.

Again, please stop projecting UF's penchant for not playing outside of Florida onto the rest of the SEC.
