UCLA doesn't look that impressive
Based on tonight, I'd take Memphis and the points.

If UCLA was laying 20 at UVA they are going to be laying a lot more than that at home against us. My guess is close to 30.
You are aware that UVA only won 2 games last year right?
I predict a Memphis win next weekend.
2-0

RE: UCLA doesn't look that impressive
U of Va played over their heads against a ranked team at home. I figure the line of the game should be close to what we had this week with the roles reversed. UCLA will not look past us since it will be home opener. If anything they will be wanting to send a message due to their lackluster play on the road.
Will give this to them at least the Pac 12 is not afraid to actually play non conference road games to open the season.

Guys we hung with a ranked Louisville last year. We have a chance and it's not going to be a drumming like some are assuming

UCLA QB is really impatient in the pocket. If we can get pressure on him and not turn the ball over, we've got a chance.

1-0 in Pasadena, and 2-0 on our trips to Southern California:
1971 Tigers 28, San Jose St. 9
1991 Tigers 24, Southern California 10

I am aware. I am also aware that a majority of bettors in Las Vegas come from Southern California and therefore lines are often skewed by whom they are going to bet on. USC, UCLA, Oakland Raiders and SD Chargers often have slightly inflated lines because Vegas knows they will get heavier action on those teams.

San Jose is Northern California.
We played them in Pasadena.
History, folks. History:
The victory over San Jose State marked the second bowl win for the Tigers in school history. The game also marked the end of an era in Tiger football history. Head coach Billy J. Murphy stepped down from his coaching position following the bowl win and dedicated his time to being the University's athletic director.

and in the "history folks. history" category, the section that the tiger ticket allocation is in is what im pretty sure was the section that paul "skeeter" gowen ran up into and took a seat after scoring the final touchdown to seal the win in that bowl game.

UCLA was sacked 5 times yesterday. Hundley may not survive the 1st quarter if Ifedi is good to go.

It may not matter, but that's definitely a trap game.
Our team will have to deal with jet lag.

I was thinking that was in the northeast corner instead of our northwest corner, but I could be wrong and hope you are right.

Hopefully they won't. It's only a two hour time difference, and jet lag is a lot easier to deal with when travelling east to west (where you "gain" two hours), that it is in travelling west to east. UCLA is having to deal with two cross-country trips within a few days' time, and a less-than-stellar performance at UVA.
Not saying they won't come out prepared and fired up, but the pressure is on them moreso than us.

Please offer a link to a bookie who is offering UCLA at -30. I'd probably wager a stack of Benjamins on that.

Home opener is NEVER a trap game.
I dont think HOuston fans are consoled by that.
I dont know if UCLA will look beyond us or not, but:
1. They are nationally ranked, and are mentally struggling with that. (Per a Heisman voting observer)
2. They struggled in their first game against a mediocre opponent.
3. the next two games are against Texas and #20 Arizona St.
Dont know if they overlook us or not, but this is the perfect setup for a trap game.
