Some notes about Central Conn. State
Since they finally came out with Game Notes, I'll give a very brief preview about the Blue Devils.

Here are a few facts:
*Pete Rossmando was named the 13th head coach of CCSU on Jan. 22. He was a very successful coach at DII New Haven, a school the Tigers used to face about 20 years ago.

*Towson has won six of eight meeting. The Tigers won the last meeting, 20-7 in 2007.

*The Blue Devils are led by senior RB Rob Hollomon, who is third on their all-time career rushing list with 2,556 career rushing yards. As a team, they've rushed for 100+ yards in 35 straight games.

*Last year, they finished 4-8 overall and 2-4 in the Northeast Conference.

*They lost to James Madison on the road, 38-14, beat Albany 20-17 on the road and lost at Rhode Island, 42-7.

*Hollomon (5-8, 170) rushed for 1452 yards with 18 touchdowns and averaged 5.1 ypc. He's also a dangerous receiver out of the backfield with 26 catches for 223 yards and a score.

*Junior QB Nick SanGiacomo (6-3, 224) is the returning starter, tossing for 2,076 yards last season with 20 TDs and 12 INTs. He completed 57.1% of his passes.

*Tyrell Holmes (6-2, 190) is the top returning starting receiver with 42 catches for 774 yards and seven scores.

*The Oline features three juniors, a sophomore and a redshirt freshman at right tackle. The line averages around 6- 3 1/2 and 285 pounds, which includes a 6-0, 270-pound center.

*They play a 3-4 featuring a freshman nose tackle in Justin Douglas (6-3, 310). The defense allowed 35.4 points per game and 203.6 rushing yards per game last year, but only 193.3 yards per game in the air.

*They lack an elite pass rusher and return three of their top five tacklers. Senior OLB Josh Alaeze (6-1, 242) and senior FS Chris Abner lead the way. Alaeze and 55 tackles last year with 7.0 tackles for loss, while Abnder had 56 tackles.

*The Blue Devils were picked fourth in the NEC Coaches' Poll behind Sacred Heart, Duquesne and Rober tMorris.
