RE: UNLV
I feel better about NIU's chances at UNLV after seeing the first half of this game.

What do you see in their flaws?

I think NIU will decimate their defense, especially on the ground

I was thinking opposite. I think we need to beat them in the air

They just seem really really soft to me, I think NIU will pound them into submission

I think it will be a good game

They have decent passing and good WRs

Notice that we do horrible against good passing teams

They get UNCO to build confidence before us

I call good game in Vegas

Yeah I just don't think its the automatic loss many are saying, Huskies will be competitive. UNLV's offense does not look as dynamic as I was envisioning. I could see NIU running for 300 yards on UNLV.

I don't know whose saying it's an automatic loss but they are stupid

UNLV will finish 7-5 this year at best

5-7 at worst

And no disrespect to Arizona, but I don't even think they are really good team, I don't see them that much better than NIU right now.

Freshman QB with 400 yds passing 0 int and 60 yds rushing
RB over 120 yds

Defense holding unlv to only 1 TD

That is an 8-4 team or 7-5 with there schedule

How would NIU (this team fair) against Arizona schedule ?

Uuhh...did someone on this board really state the game against UNLV is an automatic loss? Who in their right mind would say that? I can see maybe a competitive game, but we should be favored

Right? When I first heard UNLV I figured that would be a really winable game. UNLV has never really been a very good program.

RE: UNLV
Phil Steele ranked UNLV last in the MWC West and Paul Myerberg ranked them #111. They lost their star QB and RB, who is their all time leading rusher. Yeah that should be a Huskie win.

UNLV wont be able to keep up with the pace of the NIU offense. After last night, I feel much much better about NIU headed back to DeKalb 2-2. UNLV will put up some points, no doubt, but I don't think enough, I see a 45-31 type game vs UNLV

RE: UNLV
In 1987 we had our first regular season appearance on ESPN against UNLV. That was the good thing, the bad thing it was a midnight, eastern time, game. Reason it was on ESPN was to showcase their RB Ickey Woods. We stopped him but UNLV couldn't stop Rodney Taylor and we won 34 - 31.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
