RE: Coach Withers Press Conference
Has anyone else had to jack their volume way up to hear the audio on these MadiZone videos? Want to know if it's just my setup before shooting off an email.

Me too, but I really didn't think that much about it as I have to go up and down with the volume on youtube as well. Its definitely not my speakers as I can blow it out with some videos.

Yeah if I listen to anything else at the volume I need for Madizone I'd blow my ear drums out haha. I was just curious since they removed the volume adjustment when they switched to the new setup. Thanks for feedback.

I agree. MM was very poor when it came to the press conference stuff, and it was a breath of fresh air and enjoyable to watch and listen to HC Withers.
I came away from the press conference with the impression that our local reporters need to step up their game, because some of their questions were repetitious and borderline dumb, and while Withers answered everything in a professional manner, I honestly cringed when some of the questions were asked.
The new HC is a real pro, and by the way he answered and handled reporter's questions I think he was also teaching the local press corp some new stuff.
Of course the true test about how Withers handles questions from the press will come after a tough loss, but hopefully those opportunities will be few and far between.
Well, how'd that work out?

MM was good in many ways. He wore his heart on his sleeve all the time and that was good in many ways and problematic in other ways.
If we play as well as we have practiced, this year will be special. I can't wait for Sat. We may not win but we will execute.
You need to quit gulping the purple koolaid..

And you need to take a chill pill with your 20-20 "hiney" sight. The team and the coaching staff will be fine.

I lost all confidence in coach MM after the way he responded to the post game questions following the ODU loss in 2012. In my mind the "Juice" lost some of its luster because coach Withers was too salty to answer post game questions after a tough loss.

I agree with BDK on this. Call a dog a dog (avoiding the troublesome cliche).

I don't usually agree with BDK, but, in his defense, he has been trying to temper everyone's expectations ever since they hired Withers, and several were telling him he was wrong and would be surprised by what Withers is able to do.
I kept quiet on the whole Withers hire, as I didn't know what to expect (and still don't completely), but from what I saw yesterday, I'm starting to think Withers & Co have been overhyped up to this point.
As Hotrod has said before, he will be judged by how his teams perform on the field as opposed to all the off the field hype, and, while there is still a lot of football to be played and the jury is still out, yesterday's embarrassing performance is not going to help his case.

Agree with all of that. I guess the thing that's annoying to me is that with all of the talk about blowing up the culture and stuff which, in my mind, kind of denigrates MM and his staff....well, the last thing that should happen is you blatantly run into the punt returner twice and have that many penalties. I know it's the first game but we looked like we were out there with a bunch of guys who have never played football before. Those kinds of mistakes drive any fan nuts. If Stephon Diggs runs past you, I understand. That's just a talent issue. I can't stand guys just leg whipping the kick returner and it's not even close.
