RE: Popeye's Chicken to Sponsor Bahamas Bowl
OK. I have to share this God's Honest true story which occurred on the New Orleans news a couple weeks after Katrina devastated the city. A TV reporter walked up to a random lady on the streets and asked her this question on live TV:

"Ma'am... Are you disturbed about Hurricane Katrina destroying so many of the Churches in New Orleans? "
Without a moment of hesitation, the lady responded..." Nah, don't bother me... I buy my chickens at Popeyes..."

The TV reporter actually dropped his mike. 03-lmfao 04-cheers

Popey's spicy chicken is OK, but their dirty rice is excellent and if you ever find one of the few remaining stores that sell their original hand-cut onion rings (not the frozen pre-fab crap almost all the Popeye's have switched to) just stop dead in your tracks and buy a pile of them.

It isn't. Joke has been around since the 90's.

Maybe she heard the joke, but the TV guy must not have... It was pretty funny.

I like their Mardi Gras mustard and the brown spicy goo they call gravy is pretty good too. It's one of the more friendly places for those needing to avoid gluten (though cross-contanmination risk is high for the really sensitive). My wife hates that she can't have the mashed potatoes and gravy but they have some decent options for her.

When I flew home to visit family after my first deployment was over, a nice couple bought me a meal of spicy chicken at Popeyes. It was the first fast food I'd eaten in over a year and it was so good!

So do I, but in the last 2 years, the chincy bastards only give you one packet per order and charge 27 cents for each extra packet. I like their food but don't eat there as often as I did for that reason. Beware their delicious red beans and rice which is made with heart-clogging lard.

Popey's is great. Their biscuits are the best. Does Church's still sell fried gizzards?

Popeye's Chicken to Sponsor Bahamas Bowl
I had a handball teammate from Jordan. There were more stores there (his family was a franchisee) than there were in Alabama at the time.

Would've thought a cruise line or airline would sponsor something affiliated with the Bahamas, but Popeye's works too.

Debatable. Colonel Sanders and Red Lobster biscuits are also very good.

There you go! BCS gets Filet-of-Chicken Peach Bowl in Atlanta and NonBCS gets Popeyes at Bahamas Bowl.
