Yeah, I tried last Friday and was politely but firmly run off.

I guess we're back to the upstairs windows in Ullman.

RE: football practice schedule
Fresno State bought one to record practice. Cost them about $2,000. 03-razz

Supposedly, someone recorded the guys practicing last year and sent it to Troy. That's why Coach Clark is so strict on closed practices. Even when the families and former players got to go to one practice, they had to go outside the fence to use the phone.

The reason it didn't bother me to get run was that it felt kinda good to have the coach be in control of things that way. While it was cool as hell to stand on the sidelines across from the team during practice there are damn few schools that allow such.

So maybe McGoober wasn't as paranoid as we thought?

1. He was definitely paranoid...once calling the media a "bunch of f$%*ing snitches" before walking into the media room not realizing everybody could hear him (great PR).

2. Regardless if practice was filmed and sent to Troy, that isn't what cost UAB that game in the least. If it really did happen, it would appear it helped UAB, at least offensively. The problem is that you can't let a senior QB complete 30 out of 32 passes. You will lose every time. Defensive sets and adjustments were just awful in that game (and for much of the year).

LOL
If they got a tape, they should have asked for their money back. Our offense was clicking early. A tape has nothing to do with pulling a hot QB, or kicking an onside kick, or any of the other bad decisions that helped us lose that game.

Maybe he was 30-32 because he knew our defense alarmingly well.

If so, that means we made no in-game defensive adjustments whatsoever. So the video was not the problem.

The real reason he went 30-32 was because we played prevent defense the entire game.

RE: football practice schedule
Coach (Clark) also said in the video about combining the two practice fields that they had put up fences around the whole field with screens so people can't watch practice. I have seen them, and they serve that purpose well.
