Folliard add 40 lbs in two years

He is now 6'2" 230 lbs. He is gonna be a good one. They have Santa listed as starter though. We will probably rotate 6 guys regularly with Bass being only linebacker to play all three downs regularly.

I'd have a hard time believing Santa is better than Folliard and/or Payton. Age aside, I take either of those two over him.

I feel bad for Santa. He has become the horvath-like punching bag for people and I'm not sure why. He was sorely missed when he was injured last year

Yeah, the Santa hate really makes no sense. He's not a great player, but he's not terrible either.

Although I do think he put too much weight on last year and it slowed him down a bit.

Santa dealt with some nagging injuries last year too. My son thought he looked great in last Thursday's scrimmage FWIW. He said Santa was "playing like a Senior".

I could've worded my post better; I more think Folliard and Payton are really good and deserve a look than think Santa is really bad. With that said, there were moments last season where he was the most frustrating player on the defense for me.

I think Santa is a good player, He is experienced. I think Payton, Folliard, Jones have more talent but that does not necessarily equate to the field. Santa probably will never be All MAC but the other three might.

I didn't mean you, it just sparked my mind how a lot of people take shots at him

I have always liked Folliard and am interested to see what he can do given more playing time. His tape coming out of high school was very impressive. I am not surprised by him putting on 40 lbs since he was enrolled early at NIU to start working out with the team. If this kid can play both the run and pass, I say let him start.
