US Counter Terror ranks ISIL most deadly
http://news.yahoo.com/isil-could-pose-th...08833.html

Quote:Led by its charismatic chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the radical Islamist group is looking beyond its short-term goal of overthrowing the Iraqi and Syrian governments and replacing them with a self-proclaimed Islamic Caliphate. “We’re seeing an expansion of its external terrorist ambitions,” one U.S. counterterrorism official said in a briefing for reporters Thursday. “As its capabilities grow, it has attracted thousands of foreign extremists — some of whom are going home to start cells. As it carves out territory [in Iraq], it wants to go beyond that and do attacks outside. ” U.S. counterterrorism agencies had put the number of ISIL fighters at about 10,000, but that figure is now being reassessed and is likely to be raised, officials say.

This crap starting to get very serious. Hopefully they will be stupid enough to try a open conventional war and not the hit and run warfare they have been doing.

If ISIS goes the conventional war route, they'll be routed very quickly.

And I don't think we need Intel Agencies telling us that ISIL/ISIS is the most deadly, or the world's biggest threat. We can just turn on the news and figure that one out.

SO they now have a well armed force courtesy of the US weapons left for the Iraqi army and for Obama's inaction to stop ISIL before they seized control of Iraqi military bases. So OBOMBA's decision to bomb ISIL is too little too late.

If Bush had done the same thing you wouldn't be complaining about it.

I don't agree with leaving all the weapons behind but apparently we've been doing that for a long time.

Cheaper to built new ones than ship them back. Which is kinda sad.

Step 1 is to target ISIS weapons captured from the Iraqis. Just draw KillBoxes and work them over. If they take them to Syria bomb them there.

Step 2 is to ID anyone 20-45 with a EU Passport that has been to Turkey, Middle East or Asia and stayed more than 6 months.

Step 3 is to watch the Southern US Border because that is where they will cross.

Pretty big jump from the JV team to the #1 team in a matter of months.

Seems like an attempt to manipulate people by scaring them. A group that hasn't been very active long and has yet to kill an American seems like a stretch as most dangerous.

About 20 different offshoots of Al Qaueda.

But they're on the run, my president told me so.

I am not surprised. These people commit atrocities all the time, and someone's got to stand up to them and stop them somehow.

What makes these people more dangerous is hundreds of EU and US citizens that have travelled to the Middle East to fight for ISIS and who can come back to their home Nation & start blowing things up.
