Yeah they have meetings scheduled with teams like Oregon and Oklahoma but they are afraid of the baby blue monsters. Probably has more to do with a ninth conference game and getting rid of a less than marque matchup..

Man, I actually have to agree with Ragu.

North Carolina is not a marque opponent. The conference went to 9 games instead of 8. They have teams like TCU, Oregon, and Okahoma coming up. To act like UNC makes them scared is laughable. Plus UNC went like 7-6 last year. Pretty scary...

Louisville plays the worst team in CUSA in FIU and a FCS team in Murray State this season. Don't throw stones.

I didnt say Ohio St was scared of NC. Ohio St is usually a nc contender but their OOC is usualy soft. They had a chance to improve their schedule last season, which it needed, by adding Louisville but they added SD St instead. If Ohio St is so great then shouldnt teams like Oklahoma be on their schedule every year? Louisvilles schedule last year was pathetic but it would of helped us out to if Ohio St wouldve played us.

That is Louisville's OOC for THIS YEAR. Murray State, and FIU to go along with crappy Kentucky are 3 of your 4.... Again dont throw stones.

Yeah our schedule isnt the best but I expect more from the so called elite teams, Alabama included. What has been holding Ohio St back in the polls is their SOS. Its good to see that Oklahoma & Oregon are coming up for you. Louisville has Auburn next year.

My point is that your buddy downed OSU for scheduling a MAC team when you guys usually have 2 softies and Kentucky as 3 of your 4 OOC games...

Schedule Comparison,
Ohio State vs. Louisville
Va Tech.............Notre Dame
Cincinnati...........Kentucky
Navy.................FIU
Kent St..............Murray St

As a Hokie fan I'd like VT to be better than Notre Dame, but until proven otherwise, no. I'm also saying Louisville's #2 OOC team - Kentucky - is better than Ohio State's #2 - Cincinnati. So unless you think Navy + Kent State is seriously better than FIU + Murray State, I'm giving the SoS edge to the Cardinals this year.

When did this happen?

About the same time when Clemson won at Chapel Hill in basketball, oh my bad. Unlike the tiggers, my Heels have won at Clemson in football. Same can't be said for you guys in bball. So, I guess my answer would be certain times throughout the history of Carolina football and not enough that would allow us to be more than a program struggling to reach it's potential.

Typical tarhole. Got to bring up basketball in a football discussion.

No way is UK better than Cincy.

And Navy/Kent St is seriously better than FIU and Murray State.

Don't bother. Tiggers get extremely sensitive when you joke about them; but, it's ok for them to joke about us. But hey, you guys have been great in football for decades. And you can certainly see that from all of the national championships amassed over the years. There isn't a Tar Heel on this planet that knows we have work to do when it comes to football. At the very least, we have shown the world that we can have a great program with the right coach; you know, sort of like how Clemson flourished under Dabo.

RE: UNC/Ohio State games off
Couple random thoughts:

1. Ohio State replaced the home and home with North Carolina with 2 home games. UNLV in 2017 and Oregon State in 2018 (as far as I can see that's a one and done).

2. Ohio State vs. Louisville might have sounded good, but there was no room for it on the schedule unless Louisville was willing to do a one and done. We visited Cal last year (which sounded a lot better a match-up when it was announced), have Navy on the road this year, and are at Virginia Tech next year. After that, the Big Ten goes to 9 conference games and we have already had too many home and homes scheduled.

3. 9 conference games is a definite limit on out of conference scheduling, but I'll still take it anyway. We've been in a conference with most those teams 100+ years. I want to play them regularly more than random out of conference games.

Really? Let's see... Topic about series cancellation; dumb arse question about program strength. Yeah, I can see how that question was on topic and relavent. Look here sugar britches, no one is taking anything away from Clemson. You spout off with a question that wasn't even close to being on topic and was checked. You didn't like how I answered a dumb arse off topic question. Moral of the story, don't try so hard to be witty at the expense of others.

This was after Louisville beat Florida in the Sugar so ESPN was helping to set up a TV game since the schedule was so pathetic last year since it was a transition year. ESPN talked to several teams, Wisc, Ala, A&M for exp, about rescheduling games but none of that happend. UL & Ohio St both had a date available but Ohio St chose SD St. I assume it would have been a one done game for ESPN, like Auburn is for us next season, but I wasnt involved in the negotiations.

Playing at Cal last year certainly didn't feel like a huge game (which is what it was supposed to be) and I'd have preferred Louisville added too. Ohio State hasn't typically shied away from strong games if they fit the scheduling model, so I've been assuming it was a scheduling issue, but I'll admit I don't know that for sure.
