Most NIU fans would pay 4 times the price to get better teams in Huskie stadium, I strongly disagree with that. Whatever amount of fan you lose by jacking up the prices, you would gain tenfold that by having a better product to promote. That's been the main reason why marketing these 100 dollar season tickets has not worked the past 5 to 7 years and why season tickets have declined, the product has not been worth anything to most people, even at 100 dollars. It doesn't matter how much you lower ticket prices, the only way to sell more is to offer more

How? People put on the license plate holders then they drive around...(marketing NIU). People put on the scarf in the winter...(marketing NIU).

How often are people going to be flying a small SMU flag in public with such tiny print? I see no use for the flag other than putting it up in a fan cave.

Lets not go that far...There is no way that I and many on here could afford $440 for each season ticket.

That being said I would pinch my pennies elsewhere so I could afford the $210 per season ticket (I get 6) for a home schedule of TCU, TX A&M, UC, Houston, USF & Memphis

Any idea if STH's are getting a gift this year? If we dont I'll be glad I kept my Vote Coach Kill 2008 magnet.

RE: SMU Season Ticket Package
Yea $440 is pretty steep, at least at this point in my career. I wouldn't have problem with $200 a seat with a better schedule (6 games, no FCS team, quality BCS or high mid major teams OOC.

If they do raise season ticket prices a bit as we get a better fan base, gameday atmosphere improves and the schedule improves, I would like to seem them move to a payment plan. Right now I put the tickets on my credit card and pay half right away, and the other half after I get my statement (still no interest, but it spreads it out a bit). Instead of having to pay the CC fees, NIU would see the money and maybe more people would buy tickets.

Yeah more people will see the scarf and plate holder but I think a flag is a good idea. They also have the tickets in a booklet with coupons and game day info. I think NIU should send the tickets in a booklet of such with a t-shirt or something.

You should get your gift with your tickets. I will put my flag in my garage, hard to use my scarf from last year down here. Just hangs in the closet.

Yeah but you aren't getting that..

Would you pay $200/ticket for Memphis and USF(SMU,Houston,etc) home games plus the MAC schedule?

I don't even know where my scarf is, and I have never noticed anyone's license plate holder...

The flag you could fly at games, at away games, etc..

T-shirt would be a good idea(probably better than the flag) because all the flags are going to probably be in donor lots, so not really marketing to people they need to be..

But if they had a t-shirt, that said something like "commit 2 niu", "season ticket holder" "best football team in IL"....type thing then that could create a buzz..

Right now no...not for all 6 of my tickets. The MAC product is not worth $200 per ticket for a non-premium seat. I would likely have to go back down to 3 season tickets and just have the whole family go to 2 games a year.

In a few years if the kids are actually interested in watching the game then maybe but it depends on how much play money I have. Then it may be more worth it but right now they really don't pay attention.

Though I would pay $200 if NIU were in the AAC and we had the quality 1-1s that came with Schedulepalooza. I would even like to see 1 OOC home game that included MAC team like Toledo, WMU or Ball St. Then round the schedule out with 1 low level GO5 team as needed.

Assuming we were in the AAC West...something like

Toledo/WMU/Ball St
at Ball St/WMU/Toledo
Low level GO5
at top GO5 or P5 giving us a 1-1
Houston
@Tulsa
Tulane
@Navy
SMU
@Memphis
UCF
@Temple

then the next year

at Toledo/WMU/Ball St
WMU/Ball St/Toledo
Low level GO5
top GO5 or P5 giving us a 1-1
@Houston
Tulsa
@Tulane
Navy
@SMU
Memphis
@UCF
Temple

You don't get squat being a season ticket basketball holder. "Father how about a little something for the effort".
I would even take total consciousness on my death bed.

I use my scarf & I ALWAYS notice license plates & holders. You just have to be more observant cartershaw. Oh wait...guys are not observant of anything if it isn't some sexy babe. I knew that - I live with 3 of them!

Sending out season tix in a flag would be expensive. I would rather not see NIU spend a lot of money on something like that. I think HuskieJohn is right...a flag would be hung on the wall in our Huskie Den in the basement.

The license plate holder is actually a pretty clever & good marketing idea. My boys & I already have NIU plate holders so if NIU sends one for season ticket holders it will be passed on to my husband.

An NIU car window cling is also a good idea & would not cost anything extra to mail out with the tickets.

The flag costs at most $1 to produce. It's like licra material. Plus that cost is nullified since they mail you stuff twice.

Perhaps true, but the last decade of Huskie basketball has been like getting this done to you 2-3 times a week:
