AAC, CUSA, MWC, MAC, and the Sun Belt need to double the price of their game with the Cartel 5 now that SOS factors into the CFP.

The AAC has already said they welcome Autonomy. Don't look for any help from the AAC with any of the other left out conferences. Not trying to be a jerk, just stating what Aresco and AAC school presidents have agreed upon.

Which is no different from what our presidents and Banowsky have done. As a matter of fact, I can't find the article but CUSA was the first G5 conference to publicly come out in support of it.

RE: BIG Questions about P-5 exclusively scheduling P-5 opponents
What's interesting though, is that from a pure budget standpoint (2013),our AAC brethern, on average, spend about double per year on athletics than we in C-USA do. There is potentially more damage done from a lack of P5 scheduling for us than for the AAC, and even the MWC, from a pure dollars and cents standpoint. This is really where the rubber meets the road. The lack of money games (which I loathe the very concept of, by the way) for C-USA will hurt. We shouldn't be for this kind of separation. It may happen, but its not something we should be hoping for.

Not that it has matter for y'all recently but what would that do for a bowl situation? USM isn't Notre Dame and wont have bowls chomping at the bit to invite you.

We'd be sacrificing that most years. But I think most USM fans have had their fill of minor bowl games. Recruits might be more concerned, but I'm not sure I want to fund kids who's life aspiration is to go to the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl anyway.

They're all just kissing ass because they don't want to work in Mississloppy (or Huntington) forever.

Maybe the Big 12 could cut you a ACC/Notre Dame deal.

You don't like us? Maybe your AD should go find a conference with schools you do like.

I think there's an outside chance we could get a deal like that, but on an unequal basis (with maybe 1 game in 3 in Hate-us-burg, Mobile, or New Orleans). We'd have to show some ability to field a quality opponent, and that creates a sort of chicken/egg dilemma. I'm not sure we'll ever improve while we're in CUSA, but it's difficult to imagine getting out unless we improve. It's a difficult problem, but ultimately I'd rather go 0-12 with 8 away games against P5 teams than continue to stagnate in CUSA.

I don't mean any of this as an insult to any CUSA school. If you've just moved up, and you feel like you're on the basic Louisville/ ECU/TCU path, then by all means stick with it and be happy. Or, if you're a Marshall fan and you feel you can still build a good team and draw fans in CUSA, then do that. That's not USM's situation, though, no matter how loudly some people repeat the party line.

Incidentally, weren't we supposed to be looking at arena plans by now? I haven't heard a thing out of Mcgillis about that. I'm pretty sure he missed his own deadline, which is pretty sorry considering he only set the deadline like, 6 weeks ago. Home boy can't even plan 6 weeks out.
