well to be fair your words were "you can blame democrats in CO" and every time I asked for clarification on that in this thread you just ignored those comments until now
so....
People have tried and tried to explain it to you, John. You just don't want to accept it.
Explanations like an actual study + $23 million controception campaign being "unproven propaganda" but your totally bullsh.it claim that it is dope killing sperm is correct?
And don't pluralize it, as far as I can tell you are on an island here with this argument.
The study makes no sense, John. Listen to what people are trying to tell you.
The "study" which stated that $23 million being used to provide the most effective/easiest to use form of birth control at low or no cost lead to a decrease in teen pregnancy rates.
and you are seriously saying that "The study makes no sense?"
Are you seriously this stupid? Have you seriously omitted the facts that these programs have
1. preceded the weed legalization movement and were first being used as far back as 2007?
2. These programs have been put into action in places other than Colorado and have had similar result?
No...don't let the facts get in the way of your agenda. Trying to make the connection that this is only the result of weed is comical at best.

As for the OP, can we explore why we think the drop in fertility is a GOOD thing?

Just so I'm clear, we're all agreed the 40% drop in teen pregnancy is a good thing, right?

That is a broad brush. What was the cause? I am skeptical that premarital sex has reduced that much. I'd like to know the adult pregnancy numbers in the same period.

Colorado teen pregnancy rate drops 40%

Or GOPers can just admit that their policies are flat out wrong.
Colorado's teen birth rate dropped 40% between 2009 and 2013, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment announced this week, in part due to a program that provides long-acting contraception to low-income women.
Colorado's Family Planning Initiative provided funding for 68 family clinics across the state to offer around 30,000 intrauterine devices and implants to young women at low or no cost. An IUD is a small T-shaped device that is inserted into the uterus by a doctor. They're either wrapped in copper or contain hormones, which kill sperm and make the uterine lining too thin for egg implantation. Because IUDs stay in place for five to 10 years, they're easier to comply with than taking daily birth control pills.
An anonymous donor funded the $23 million initiative, which also provided training, outreach and technical assistance to clinics statewide.
You mean, providing greater access to birth control actually lowers teen pregnancy rates? Say it aint so.....
-Republicans
I don't know any republican who would disagree with that statement. Yes birth control does reduce pregnancy that's kind of the point.
What republicans or what I believe most republicans believe is that the government should provide a subsidized birth control. Women shouldn't take personal responsibility in there reproductive health. If they don't want to get pregnant then buy birth control or abstain. I don't believe that the government should provide that.
Edited: to say shouldn't

I don't understand the fear of providing birth control considering the cost of taking care of mother AND child a year later is so much more. Republicans should CHEER for free b.c.

from what I can tell, republicans love calling themselves "the party of fiscal responsibility" however their attitudes on stuff like this can be called anything but fiscally responsible.
it is indisputable that this stuff not only works and lowers pregnancy rates, BUT IT ACTUALLY SAVES THE TAXPAYERS MONEY.
the talking point that you present is stupid and irrational because it puts personal feelings ahead of logic. And just an FYI i can see right through that one, it has nothing to do with "personal accountability" but right wing nuts wanting to enforce their christian values on public policy.

Liberals just want the world to drink the kool-aid that Pot use causes homosexuality.
Two birds with one stone.

RE: Colorado teen pregnancy rate drops 40%
So pot use makes kids gay and reduces teen pregnancy rates by 40%. according the the right wing nuts on here that is a proven fact but a report stating the 40% drop is related to a $23 million campaign providing low cost contraception is "unproven propaganda"
and the cherry on top is blaming dems for getting involved on this issue and should be spending their time on something else...
You guys are so stupid and so hypocritical that I question if I should spend any more time on this.

you are accusing me of being a dingbeat, you are the one who just made the most two faced statement ever. You just said democrats should be blamed for focusing on womens health issues when there are much bigger things to focus on.
talk about being a political hack who only tows the party line and puts his partisan values ahead of all rational sense.
that is easily the most hypocritical comment that can be made in all of politics
