Is Miles trying to build a bridge between the students and the team?

The whole university. Under Curry, somehow the football team alienated themselves not only from the students but the other student athletes. This past season Coach Hunter and the basketball team rallied to try to generate student support for the football team. In the winter, the football team was encouraged to go to basketball games and support. The football team did not disappoint. Leading the noise behind one of the baskets. Now this, Hunter and the Basketball team showing their appreciation for that support.

It is good to see the programs coming together to finally build something. It is the only way this thing will work in the long run.

I agree. Curry should have known better. I'm glad the university is coming together. While I was there, I didn't feel any type of school spirit among its students but maybe that is what it is like for a commuter university. That was from 1986 to 1989. Maybe things have changed since then. When I was at GaSo, not many people stayed on campus during the weekends as there wasn't football and only baseball and golf were the only successful sports. All that changed when football was introduced.

The players themselves alienated themselves by being antagonistic to students and especially the Greeks. Curry's assistants (especially Pugh) had a boys will be boys attitude and things didn't get to Curry unless it was getting to the AJC and or Becker. Add to that that our former AD was universally hated by students, faculty and staff. She had a let them eat cake attitude even as she burned through their student fees. The last 18 months have been as caustic as anything I have seen or experienced in corporate America. But things are already changing even under the interim AD.

That's good. We at GaSo know about disliked ADs from our stint with Sam Baker.

FIFY. This was as much about Hunter wanting his opponents to be harassed even more by the football team this season than anything. Very good move on his part.

Anyone notice how the reporter for Pantervision is taller than the O-lineman and MUCH taller than the 6-1" 280 nose guard Jalen Lawrence?

Reporter is huge.

Reporter should play on the line.

Dave "The Voice" Cohen. The voice of Panther athletics for I think 33 years. Easily 6'5" or 6"6".
