dude, hate to say it but if UCONN finishes within 10pts of BYU you guys need to be happy with that.

In the past uConn has had tough football team and that is back now, so get used to a new england school being a fb power.

Just ask memphis how good Casey Cochrane is.

I agree. Syracuse is going to get good again. Fb power? Definitely.

There is nothing worse than mixing up the frozen tundra of that wasteland in NY with New England!! How dare you! 04-chairshot

Hank, I was out on Nantucket last week for vacation. When I was in the supermarket all decked out in UConn gear, I ran into three customers at the deli (all together) who were all decked out in Syracuse gear. They couldn't even look at me. You could feel their internal rage with UConn winning yet another national championship and having a 4-1 title edge. They looked so angry and wouldn't make eye contact with me. LOVED it!

Tell me how UConn will pull it off? I'd really love to hear.

By scoring more points than BYU.

Any more questions?

Nope.. I think that is a simple valid formula there sir... 04-bow04-cheers

ECU pirate

In all seriousness, BYU does not have any film on this "new" UConn team... and I damn sure remember what happened to us back in 2001 when we played Wake in Grobe's first year.

Anything can happen. GO UCONN.

Tulane @ Tulsa
My Line: Tulane 27-20Tulane builds on a strong season last season. Gets a leg up with a early conference tilt.
REALITY SAID: Tulsa 38-31 2OT Tulane was up and looking good--Tulsa make a heroic effort in a come back. Tulane misses a FG.... OT..... double OT... pick by Tulsa in the endzone seals the 2OT win.

0-1

Temple @ Vanderbilt
My Line: Vandy 35-21. Temple just not good enough yet to make this a game.

Friday 8/29

BYU @ UConn
My Line: BYU 27-18 BYU should not lose this game unless they somehow have travel lag.

Saturday 8/30

Penn St vs. UCF (Ireland)
My Line: UCF 27-21I think UCF will come out and prove a point. The question marks for this game will be the travel required by both teams and UCF no longer having Blake Bortles at QB.

UTSA @ Houston
My Line: Houston 31-23 Houston shows up big in their hope opener but I bet UTSA will have something to prove and they have been trending strong so they might get Houston sleeping if they have any shot at winning this game.

Austin Peay @ Memphis
My Line: Memphis 35-17 Tigers better not lose!

WCU @ USF
My Line: USF 27-13 USF might blow them out but I am not sold on taking a blowout pick considering how bad USF was last season.

UNCC @ ECU
My Line: ECU 56 - 21In my heart I think we can go for 60+ on these guys considering our talent but I am hesitant to go that far for game one of the season against someone other than the guys you have been practicing against.

Sunday 8/31

SMU @ Baylor
My Line: Baylor 45-20 I just can't see SMU pulling off the upset against Baylor at their own place.

That's my story and I am sticking to it at least for a week!03-drunk07-coffee3

FWIW, in poking around for this, it sure looks like the AAC in some for or another will have games gracing ESPN, FOXSN, and CBSSN platforms so do yourself a favor and watch any AAC game you get in your area!

Starting off 0-1 but damn was that a great game to watch.

UTSA @ Houston The worst loss of this week. No excuses for this.

Saturday 8/30

Penn St vs. UCF A respectable loss. If we have to lose might as well be as far away from the end of the season as possible. If we play well we can sneak back into the rankings. Just glad to have a playmaker at the helm again.

Austin Peay @ Memphis - I know they are a bad FCS team, but very impressive all around. This game was never in question. It's never easy to shut out anyone.

WCU @ USF Way too close. This FCS team gets blown out by other FCS programs.

UNCC @ ECU

Sunday 8/31

SMU @ Baylor - HELP ME OBI WAN KENOBI, YOU'RE OUR ONLY HOPE

SMU @ Baylor... hopefully they pull it out... 5-3 atm
