Yeah, but this Carey we're talking about... I'm surprised he isn't saying "he's day to day."

For those of you who have never gotten a close look at Bouagnon, this is him at football academy at Aurora Christian in the spring 2012, which would have been the off season between his junior and senior year of high school. Amazing how big and strong he was back then - he was a man amongst boys.

Kid is a strong athlete. Would be curious to know what his weight is up to now a full 2 years later.

It sucks to loose the bruiser but I too feel stingly is a bit over loved, can break the tackles but not super agile nor a burner...with our strength at offensive line I have faith with a veteran in Akeem returning fresh with a season off and maybe one of the young kids impressing this season, cam missing a few games or half a season won't have that dramatic of an effect...really excited to see huff on the field this season

Worried about those goal line situations.

I don't get how anyone can say Cam is overrated. He had over 1000 yards last year and wasn't even the first option. Hopefully that's as easy to replace as you all think.

Short yardage situations just escalated in difficulty. This news heightens my concern of the Northwestern & Arkansas games.

Injuries suck...but running back is one of the better positions to get an injury at, if you have to choose one. And NIU has a few good ones, it looks like.

He had over 200 carries, which was like 5th most in the MAC. He doesn't catch the ball, he isn't the best pass protected, and outside of the Kent state game where he went for over 250 he only had two 100 yard games, and less than a TD a game.

He was good, but people on here hype him like he's Turner or Wolfe. He's a good player but he's not even the best RB on the team.

everyone saying he is overrated is ridiculous. Yes, he isn't flashy and a power back but just take this into consideration "Akeem was out all last year" We do have depth but now everything is put on Akeem's back! I hope he can stay healthy as well.

Hopefully our QB shows they are an actual threat on the ground or air and will keep teams guessing. If Carey is switching from QB to QB and we are relying a lot on our RBs. This can be a long year. We are lucky we have one of the weakest SOS in the nation.

It may be a weak schedule but 3 road games @ UNLV, @ NU, and @ Arkansas is just brutally tough. In speaking truthfully, I dont think we had much of a chance breaking in a new QB and getting the d-line mess straightened out in week 2 vs NU. Even before Stingily went out I think we were probably in for a pretty good drubbing in week 2 vs the Wildcats. Stingily out just maybe changes that game to a long shot vs no shot. The season is not a loss though, starting QB and defense will probably get things straightened out by the Arkansas game, and if Stingily can come back mid way through MAC play there is no reason to think NIU cant still win the West.

Huskiejwn, he's not the best back on the team? tell me who is? People have made Daniels into some all-league player and he's not. Stingley will be missed a lot.

Did Pegram not get it? Or did he not want it? I'm pretty sure if you're injured and don't play in ANY game you can get it...not sure what would stop that.

And even if Pegram wanted it and didn't get it, with how little Cam played his first two years I bet NIU could play some games and say he was injured for some of those seasons.

we are deep at RB with quality guys. Huff, I think is a good one who is a 226 back. Daniels, I think will have a great year. Sure you miss a Stingly, but every team has injuries. I think this has a minimal effect on the team. If there is a position we can afford an injury its RB

This guy gets it. Good player who will be missed, but he's always been overrated on here.

Why are people bringing up the Iowa game? Because the one carry for 11 yards he had after the INT? He had 42 rushing yards in that game and averaged 3.5 per carry. 28 yards against Ball State. 49 against WMU. 38 against Utah State.

It's football. Dudes get hurt. He's not somebody NIU can't live without.

Ya we have veterans on the line and at the WR positions...and Akeem put up about 6.7 yards a carry in 2012 (447 on 68 carries) and has good catching ability, so Akeem, KHJ and the kids will most likely be able to fill cams shoes just fine on the ground ...

One time our starting running back got hurt and we got stuck with that Wolfe guy having to play running back....

Stingely will be missed on the 3rd and short or 4th and short plays. Other than that, I think Akeem, Huff, and the others will more than compensate.
