A friend of mine is a good friend of Joe Torre. Several years ago, he was invited to Florida the week before spring training started to fish, play golf, and play poker with Joe and Yogi and some other Italian-American baseball players or former players. They were playing poker late one night in the condo with the TV on and the move The Sand Pebbles came on. When Steve McQueen appeared on the screen, someone said something like, "Hey, there's Steve McQueen. He's dead now, right?" Yogi answered, "Yes, but I think he made this movie before he died." Without missing a beat, Torre deadpanned, "Yeah, Yogi, I'm sure he did."
