I know an old Marine who tells people his appendix scar is where he took a bayonet in Desert Storm.

As we used to say in the navy, the difference between a fairy tale and a sea story is that a fairy tale starts out, "Once upon a time," and a sea story starts out, "This is no sh*t."

Haha, another guy I knew who was in our unit but reenlisted and went to another unit, went to Iraq during the same time frame. Saw him afterwards, said he took shrapnel from a mortar near his groin. As there are no secrets in an all male unit he casually showed us the wound, and I thought to myself that is looked exactly like my scar from a hernia operation.

The best part was a guy who had a chunk his thigh blown off from an IED was there, and rolled his eyes and said something about comparing scars.

I'm not sure if I really care who wins the lawsuit after any appeals or weather the judgement is every paid out or a after verdict settlement is reached.

My gripe is with the media !
Somethings the strike me as weird about the reporting
they do not mention that Jesse Ventura was also a retired Seal.
The way the say that Chris Kyle is deceased. Leaves the impression he was killed in combat and not a hunting accident.

Note that the long explanation is Jesse Ventura wanted a retraction. When he did not get one he sued with the value enough that the other party would not try and settle out of court. So that he could say a jury believed that he was telling the truth.

Wasn't a hunting accident. It was at a gun range.

Jesse is not a retired SEAL. He wasn't a SEAL, he was UDT. They train right next to each other in Coronado, or at least used to, and sometimes train together. But they are not the same. Ventura has tried to blur that difference, but being almost the same is not the same as being the same.

I also don't think he is "retired." Retired means you did at least 20. I don't believe he did that.
