I know this is just spit balling.....but Britt Davis? Really?
Hey man, it's FAVORITE player...not best.
I always carry a torch for bad players. Not that Britt was bad, but I always like to overrate bums.

Can't believe Barksdale hasn't been mentioned. Billy Lowe too. Now that they have been mentioned, we can move on.

Garrett Wolfe - so damn fun to watch him run away down the field!
Chandler Harnish - Great player, great young man! Could fake the hand off like nobody else!
Jimmie Ward - super playmaker. Even with only one hand & the other in a cast.
Jake Coffman - great player & a true inspiration.
Jordan Lynch - for all the obvious reasons including spending New Year's eve & day in Miami

RE: Favorite Huskie player
As Huskie fans there have been too many talented players to pick just a couple. The obvious choices are JL, GW, Burner, Chandler, Bork, Keller, Dach, English, Diem, Stacy Robinson... Guys that have made big impact on the program. Of the guys that are not quite that level, I've always loved PJ and Chad Spann. They were really fun to watch and it was really easy to root for them.

I should have elaborated, I had his Jersey when I first started really getting into Huskie football. So it's more the nostalgia factor than anything. But he really wasn't that bad compared to some.

My personal favorite was O-lineman Jake Wertz. OK, so he saw no more than ten snaps in his entire collegiate career, but still......
Seriously though, I cannot forget the joy I experienced watching Garrett Wolfe.

Quote:#1: NIU 73, Fresno State 18 (October 6, 1990)
- The ultimate Fantasy Island Huskie triumph with (1) the most points scored vs. Associated Press Top 25 team, (2) the school-record 806 yards total offense, and (3) QB Stacey Robinson's NCAA record 308 yards and five touchdowns rushing. "I thought I was in Norman, OK," groaned FSU coach Jim Sweeney.
Quote:"The Wiz"-short for "Wishbone Wizard II"-made (1) ESPN, (2) Football News, (3) Sports Illustrated, and (4) Chicago Tribune National Player of the Week. This Wishbone clinic was the No. 2 college football story that night on ESPN's "SportsCenter." Robinson (308 yards on 22 carries) scored five first-half TDs (39, 9, 41, 67, and 11 yards) without being touched vs. a Top 25 opponent. His halftime rushing total (287 yards) still ranks as the most by any QB in the history of the game (TCU RB LaDainian Tomlinson tied the record versus UTEP in 1999). "That was an All-America performance," said Northern Illinois coach Jerry Pettibone. "Unbelievable. I saw Mike Rozier and Roger Craig at Nebraska and Billy Sims at Oklahoma. I've seen a lot of great individual games. I thought that was the best." In the interest of gridiron diplomacy, Pettibone pulled "The Wiz" early in the third quarter. Otherwise, the Huskie Stadium stats crew would be still counting yardage.
I have to give Stacey Robinson some love here, for sure. I was at that game. It was insane!
Garrett Wolf was amazing. Fun to watch him make plays in the Big House in 2005 and the Big Horseshoe in 2006. Let's not forget how much better Wolfe was than most of the college football players of his day. He simply looked like he was playing at another level with his explosive running and jaw-dropping rushing stats.

Im very biased to those Novak teams early 2000's and my favorite players were the OLineman of that era - ALL OF THEM! Anyone who played from 2000 - 2005 and to top it off , Thomas Hammock. Hammock was a GREAT RB and some day may be head coach of your NIU Huskies.

In all reality, John Hondo Spillis wide receiver 6'2 217 pounds could catch anything thrown his way. Third round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers, played in the 1968 College All Star Game at Soldier Field.
