The other SW Michigan BIG
No idea if WMU is looking at this kid. However I don't think too many outstate kids get to play for AAU "The Family" from Detroit. Plays for both 16u & 17u teams.

Quote:Braden is a Sophomore at Lakeshore High School in Stevensville Michigan. He's 6'10 210lbs and still growing. He plays AAU and in the EYBL with The Family Detroit alongside Al Eichelberger, Cassius Winston (ESPN #54 2016), and Brian Bowen (ESPN #9 2017). They are currently ranked 5th in the nation heading into the Peach Jam in July. This is film from one of Lakeshores practices,

2016 Rankings Michigan Have to wonder how he made rating list twice

I have a friend who coaches in the SMAC and he thinks the Stevensville kid is better than Dugan.

I like the tape. But if he's a legit 6'10 inches in that film, I'd be shocked. He's about 4-5 inches taller than anyone who is guarding him. And there's no way Lakeshore has that many guys checking in at 6'6".

I love his form though. Moves great for a big man and he has a couple more years to grow and keep developing. If he's that good right now and playing for the Family, I'm not sure we have a legit shot at this young man.

6 mins into the tape...he's showing off his outside shooting touch. Looks great.

And to be clear, this kid is going to be a sophomore this year. Class of 2017.

He's unbelievable in terms of how he is built at that age. Kid doesn't even have a drivers license. Kudos to him. He obviously trains and lifts.

I'm told he's a legit 6'10". Lakeshore's has had a lot of teams with college size on the frontline.

Video was last year when Burke was a soph. He will be a Junior - class of 2016.

I thought the comments mentioned he was class of 2017?

RE: The other SW Michigan BIG
Havent seen the kid from Lakeshore, but I have seen Dugan. Dugan was maybe the 4th best player on his own team last year. Other than his height, I really wasn't all the impressed with him. Both times I saw him, he got outplayed by a 6' 2" or 6' 3" center. His whole game was simply being taller than other guys and getting a few garbage put backs.

Now that was only 2 games last year, but he wasn't impressive to me.

I believe I read an article last week that said Dugan is getting multiple looks from Big10 schools.

And I also have to believe that if this Lakeshore kid is in fact that big as a sophomore and playing AAU ball with that other talent, he is going to get plenty of looks from bigger schools that WMU.

He played and started for a D1 team, and was a two time city scoring champion in Kazoo. I suspect he's as basketball savy as a 5'5" 250 pound basketball blogger from Petosky.
