So...I have seen that you guys are hosting Missouri this year, and I had to ask. Has Toledo announced yet whether or not they will charge more for a ticket to that game individually than your other games on the schedule, or will tickets remain the same.

The reason I ask is that Arkansas State hosts Missouri in 2015, and one of the big debates amongst our fan base is that the school is considering charging twice the amount of a normal ticket for that one game as a way to cover costs for the improvements we are making to get Mizzou in. School has said either we do that, or take the 2 million dollar offer and move the game to Busch Stadium in St Louis, fans aren't happy.

I was just curious to see how a similar G5 program is handling such a game. We've only hosted one P5 game in our history, so we're still relatively new to this.

Toledo has the best one for one scheduling of schools like this historically and future scheduling of any MAC school in the conference. Individual tickets for a game like this will cost more just like they have in the past. Our athletic department is the least subsidized program in the MAC and receives the highest donations tied to tickets sales in the MAC. It all relates to our ability to have good home scheduling that is appealing to the fans and brings in the donations to secure the luxury boxes & season tickets that fans want to buy when good teams are playing at the Glass Bowl. Fan experience is important. We added beer and wine sales to the stadium last year and that went over well. Think about it, the folks in the suites have been able to drink beer all along and those sell out every year at premium dollars. People arent going to show up and watch their school play FCS no name schools and drink cokes. And they dont want a suite when they can only attend five home games and you arent playing some premium games. The scheduing at the NFL stadiums is not something you want. I think Toledo is doing it right and our fans like it. In 2015 we will have seven home games including your school. There is no doubt that our athletic director is the best AD in the MAC and this has been his philosophy all along. His contract was just extended through 2020 after being at UT for over ten years already. Although I do see that we are scheduling one for ones with schools like Tulsa, ASU, Fresno State, and Nevada, so his philosophy may be shifting if we cant get one for ones with the bigger schools. We rarely play FCS schools but we do play them from time to time but they tend to be the higher rated FCS shools like Washington State or New Hampshire when we do. In the last ten years and scheduling going forward we have only played three one and dones and that was Michigan, Florida, and a future date with Arkansas. We did do a two for one with Ohio State and made our home game at Cleveland Brown Stadium but we made over $3M of profit on that game, that was our lone NFL stadium home game that I know of. We are playing Cincinatti in an NFL stadium but that is because they are re-doing their stadium and we are going there for our side of the one for one as they played at the Glass Bowl two years ago. Yes, pricing will be more for the Missouri game. Typical pricing is $25/gm. Premium games (ex: bgSUCKS (rival), NIU (wannabe rival), big name opponents like Arizona, Colorado, Boise St., etc.) are usually $10 more. And they added another $10 for the Missouri game - for a grand total of $45/ticket. BUT, fans can buy a season ticket for $70 (which includes $30 worth of free parking, $20 gift certificate to the fan shop, and $24 worth of concession stand vouchers).

If you were to go to Missouri to see a game, how much do you think a ticket would cost? I think that's the way you have to look at paying a premium for the better teams. Those teams cost more to bring to your stadium.

Yeah, our AD has been very forward thinking with scheduling. We've got Missouri in 2015, and Miami and Iowa State on future schedules, with a date with BYU likely to be finalized soon.

Unfortunately, our last several AD's were morons who basically just tried to keep us afloat in FBS, and to host these games, its taking 40 million in stadium improvements. Unlike you guys, we can sell out for an FCS provided its an instate opponent, but to this point we're selling tickets for $17 a game, and really have never rated a single game higher than the other, meaning we have to convince a fan base used to paying a cheap price that the Missouri game is worth 40-45 bucks.

We intentionally keep our ticket prices low to try and get fans away from Arkansas, whose at 70 bucks a game right now for mediocre football.

Looking forward to seeing the Glass Bowl in 2015.

Tickets for the Toledo at Missou game I attended last year were about $35.

$35 for your corner seats(105 degrees) $50, for pressbox side seats w shade worth it.
Even though we were fairly comfortable from the heat, that game was extremely frustrating.
