RE: ASU Professor Gives Extra Credit To Female Students For Not Shaving Armpits
One more reason why I don't give alumni donations.

Wow. Starting the morning with an intelligent name change I see.
Perhaps you can answer the question that seems to have stumped our resident conservatives.
Do you think challenging social norms is a bad thing?
It upsets an equilibrium that took centuries to develop, that's why. If you want to live outside the box then don't cry and whine when you're not treated like you live inside the box. If you challenge something and f**k it up you don't get a free pass back to where you came from.

That is a fair statement. Jesus challenged many social norms and was persecuted for it. He didn't complain however. He expected and embraced it.
Perhaps that is what this professor is trying to show these students. That when they challenge social norms, they will be persecuted.

You're comparing a ham planet to Jesus?

Not at all. The professor isn't being prosecuted. He is simply asking others to conduct the experiment.
Oklalittledixie simply became part of the experiment.

Ummm, the comparison of the Son of God's persecution and the "persecution" resulting from not shaving your body for extra credit is somehow in the same ballpark because why? Maybe this professor should challenge her students to try this "social experiment" without an incentive to do so. But then again, the participation rate would likely be about zero....

Another fair statement. I wasn't trying to say they were equal but only say that it was a form of challenging social norms.
In the real scheme of things, who is really outraged by men shaving their arm pits and women not? No one.
That is the real point here. Let's stop the fake outrage and make this out like it's something big.

RE: ASU Professor Gives Extra Credit To Female Students For Not Shaving Armpits
Fit, the gay militia in this site is always saying that homosexuality is in and we should embrace it, that it is the norm. Yet, when us conservatives, God fearing individuals chastise that thinking we're (using your favorite word) persecuted for it.
So make up your mind. In your feeble mind only what you liberal community members stamp as good and normal is what we're supposed to embrace.
In a nutshell, if it's immoral, yes it should not be embraced. But something like this (hairy armpits) is not and no one should care. It's up to the individuals whether they would date/marry a neanderthal wannabe.
